My post was a joke. I was imitating fanboys that say that whenever Microsoft puts a game on playstation.
I know. I was joking too
The IP was already sold/given/whatever by late 2022. Next.Honestly, I had a feeling that after Concord flopped hard and cost Sony hundreds of millions and probably forced them to put their GaaS push into question, that it also pushed them into selling one of their own ips in an attempt to recoup what they lost on a failed and embarrassing GaaS release.
They sold the IP in order to recoup costs on Concord and to help with the contract of a game greenlit WAY before Concord was even released?DS was the most divisive IP, so they gave that away. It possibly was also to help with the contract regarding PhysInt
He always had. Thats the reason he made a partnership with Sony in the 1st place. But its nice that he now its the owner of his creation. It's great to see Kojima having creative freedom again
And for others is now an average one.For some people, Death Stranding is now a good game.
Today is a huge day for the team at Kojima Productions and 505 Games, as we welcome Porters to the world of Death Stranding Director’s Cut on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, as an Xbox Play Anywhere title.
I think having creative freedom is what led to all of us talking about a pizza delivery game. It's great to see Kojima having creative freedom again

That's not even the wild part. The Decima Engine would now run on Microsoft devices....Huh? I know DS2's copyright made this confusing, but DS1 was as straightforward as it can get.
Trademark owned by SIE and production copyright by Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. I don't get how Kojima would own the IP in either case.
Edit: Genuinely surprising if it's indeed now the case, but hey, if someone can get Sony to sell its IP, it's Kojima. It probably explains why they also let him own the Physint IP.
Why is Hulst your problem when this is a thing that's been coming from the Andrew House and Shuhei Yoshida era? Decima already ran on a Microsoft OS, lol. That's not even the wild part. The Decima Engine would now run on Microsoft devices....
Knowing Hulst who don't give a fuck about PlayStation legacy and what made the brand successful(only on PlayStation anyone???) I can see a Horizon port in the near future
This just sounds like nonsense. Who cares if one exclusive went on another console. That's not even the wild part. The Decima Engine would now run on Microsoft devices....

It would turn the console into paper weight to me. Why own a console when it's not different from the other? Only Nintendo seem to get at this point. I'm also not sure why that's even controversial when it's always been like this all generations apart from the current one. This just sounds like nonsense. Who cares if one exclusive went on another console.
At least you being honest. One too many. My dream is the death of Xbox, and more importantly, the misery of it's fans.

How did you know that they sold the IP in 2022? Care to post the sources? The IP was already sold/given/whatever by late 2022. Next.

What a worthless analysis if I've ever seen one...
I wouldn't think so, they have a new game in production for Playstation. Death Stranding is like 5 years old at this point so they probably don't care that much.Has kojima fallen out with herman or something?
Check the copyright in the 2022 reveal trailer. Pretty sure that the PC release of DS DC that same year indicated that this was the case as well. How did you know that they sold the IP in 2022? Care to post the sources?
Yea but what's going to happen the year after that when everyone consoles start to break and we realize it was just more cheap Chinese products. These guys can't even build a submarine properly. When china puts out their console and takes over the world!
At that point we already knew that Sony would release their First Party Games on PC, I don't see how this is an actual indication that the IP was sold to Kojima in 2022.Check the copyright in the 2022 reveal trailer. It also makes a ton of sense that PlayStation Productions wasn't involved in the A24 movie announced in December 2023.
XBOX people put your money where your mouth is!
The worst thing IMO - and it's the exact same thing that happened with Hellblade 2 - is that the same people that snobbed or even worse, shat on the Sony formula® (ie "cinematic games") are the same ones that will now celebrate releases like this.
I still remember the shit-show that the original topic for the game was with tens upon tens of users parroting the usual"it's a walking sim LOL"/ "there's no agency"/"there's no gameplay whatsoever hahaha"/"FedEx game lol" by...watching the game on YouTube (not by playing it of course).
Funny thing ? It has gameplay by the fucking truckload, there's stealth, there's exploration, there's action-stealth moments, there's Pew-Pew® moments where you actually get to shit shit, there's melee encounters, there's platforming, there's...you get my drift, and yet, the usual console warring bullshit...Mind you these are most probably the same people that defended something like Hellblade 2 - a game with literally no agency whatsoever, no real exploration, zero depth, questionable melee combat/systems and...a 6-8 hour run.
Just look at that Clit Eastwood tweets, you just can't make shit up, but oh, people get offended when someone expresses his opinion on a specific target demographic.
There's just no.real discussion to be had unfortunately.
Anyway, I've found it to be one of the most unique and better games of previous gen, there's really nothing quite like it, really hope it manages to sell some more copies to the X bros
Cheers
Did you miss the very first thing I said in that post? And I was talking about the PC port copyright, you know...At that point we already knew that Sony would release their First Party Games on PC, I don't see how this is an actual indication that the IP was sold to Kojima in 2022.
Huh, wrong thread? Anyway, 70% to 55% is a notable difference and people still cannot understand that this accounts for Bungie production as well.Anyway regarding the 70% I looked it up and was wrong, it was actually 55% whichis still a majority on a failed strategy to bank on their "successful" attempts at GAAS. Even their most successful attempt in Helldivers 2 they still manage to fuck it up somehow in not disclosing the psn requirements or including it post launch pissing many people off.
This is literally the Death Stranding 2 trailer which released in 2022 btw, showing the copyrightDid you miss the very first thing I said in that post? And I was talking about the PC port copyright, you know...

Not really, DS2 once again is published by Sony. Using Sony technology etc, nothing sucks about it being exclusive, the franchise, the sequel and even Kojimas studio wouldnt exist without Sonys direct involvement. It probably involves a DS2 timed exclusive time for Playstation which honestly sucks for every other platform.

Xbox fans just need to be grateful their getting their first game at all.
4 Xbox owners, I'm not interested or excited for it.that 5 xbox owners are very excited
God, I really can't with you. That literally is at the end of every single video on PlayStation's YouTube channel. This is literally the Death Stranding 2 trailer which released in 2022 btw, showing the copyright

I never had any interest in the game during the past years.4 Xbox owners, I'm not interested or excited for it.

Already have the game on disc for PS5, but I like the Xbox controller better and the Icelandic store offers the game for just €12.69. (Need a CC, but no VPN) https://www.xbox.com/is-is/games/store/death-stranding-directors-cut/9nqgn8tgnt8
