List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

I am absolutely loving my Pro at the moment. First game I played on it was TLOU 1 Remake, and was floored. I'm playing through Elden Ring now on Quality mode, and it runs great with beautiful visuals. My next games will be Spider-Man MM, Spider-Man 2, GT7, FF7 Rebirth and Dragon Dogma 2, while waiting to see the PSSR 4K 120fps for BO6.

But to say that PSSR doesn't work, and that a lawsuit should be brought is just not right. It's early days, and Sony's developers are able to work magic with it's implementations on their games, so other 3rd party developers can do the same. We just have to give them a bit more time with the new tech.

We're gonna be stuck with those half assed patches until the end of holidays, aren't we?
When Pro was announced I thought Outlaws, Silent Hill 2, Alan Wake 2, Avatar, etc. would really benefit from the extra hardware and look incredible.

At this point I've given up on proper patches and I'm starting to realize this will take 6mo-1year to improve and hopefully not longer. It's a terrible launch full of inconsistent support which is basically a public PS6 beta test.

All these issues would be easily avoidable by just implementing options to turn things on and off.
Sony's games where things work great are giving options, it's absurd that certain third parties do not look at the results of their work and think it's fine or that people won't notice and they remove options.
If something doesn't work well for your game don't use it or let people decide if the compromise is worth it 🤷‍♂️

This made me question my Steam purchase yesterday.

On one hand the PC version is till going to be better overall, but on the other after redeeming 8750 points on PS Stars, and $20 already in my wallet it would make the game basically free on PS and I've spent way too much money this month (Flexispot desk, 5700x3d, 3x 30th Dualsense, new running shoes, new trail running shoes, and $120 of movies/tv on Apple TV).

Hmmmmmmm, I might put in a refund request on Steam.

Fuck yeah that gives me hope for other games ..

Would love a patch for Plague Tale Requiem which is an amazing looking game but not in its performance mode

I have a sliver of hope now for wukong. Shame on Sony for no Returnal patch. No Helldivers 2 patch is kinda ridiculous as well.

Just keep the superior PC version and use your points to get a game that's exclusive to ps5...or a game you don't own

Most of the upgrades are great, people just focus on the bad ones.

Excellent. I plan to make my purchase by then when the update is released.

I kinda want to go to Massive and Respawn studios and meet the devs. In my head the conversation plays out like this:

- Me: Approaches dev and hugs him tightly and lovingly. Approach his ear and whisper: " Shhhh shhhh… it's ok. It's ok. Let it go.. "
- Dev: what.. wha.. let what go?
- Me: I hug him tight: " Let PSSR go.. You can let it go… it's ok"
- Dev: " But Cerny said.. the upscaler would.."
- Me: Still hugging him : " Shhhh shhhh I know ..it's ok…. But you have to let go.. It's not ready"
- Dev: But it takes just 2,5 milliseconds to…."
- Me: Grabs both of his arms firmly "Look into my eyes, look at me… you need to hit your target frametimes at base resolutions above 1200p, we know that's hard, maybe impossible right now.. and thats ok.. it's time to let go"
- Dev gets a tear in his eye, nods approvingly. I get a tear in my eye. We hug again with a smile on our face.

The TAA healing begins…..

What is interesting is that for Avatar I do not notice the image quality issues. It looks and runs better as far as I can tell. My guess is that I have a 1080p TV, so maybe the issues with PSSR scaling are not as noticeable as the image is downsampled to 1080p for me. I guess if I had a 4K TV I would notice the instability issues.

So I just learned that Avatar looks worse now than Fidelity mode used to on PS5.

We are actually LOSING the only true next games to bad fucking patches on the Pro right now.

Avatar and Sw Outlaws were the two BEST examples of RTGI on console! Anything that looks worse than Fidelity mode previously is a complete fucking failure considering these fucking idiots are only giving us ONE MODE now...

Sh2, Sw Outlaws, and now Avatar are all worse looking shimmery messes on our $800 machine ...the Pro is not a success to me until this bullshit is reversed and these games are looking better, NOT worse!

God damn it im pissed off at Ubisoft

Better finish the game this month then before they fuck something up. Performance on the pro is currently great and image quality very acceptable. It can only go down from here.

This console is nothing but a joke $700, for this garbage. Sony really should be sued for this. It’s frustrating how a product with such a high price tag can be so disappointing. They promised so much, yet the experience doesn’t come close to meeting expectations. Honestly, I wish this company would go bankrupt; $700 for this trash is unbelievable.
4 or 5 bad games from incompetent devs, like 50 or so great to amazing ones. Why the fuck are you leaving that out? Doesn't fit your narrative.

Just bought Ghost recon Breakpoint from the BF sale. It's only a PS4 game but apparently runs better on ps5. Does anyone know if it has a dynamic resolution and if it runs better on the pro?

Digital Foundry has a video on this update (well, it's an old video back when the patch released), but that 2 year old tweet reminded me that Ubisoft has yet to patch the better Ghost Recon game, Wildlands. That one is so much better than Breakpoint... it's a shame, but maybe there's still a chance since they recently patched AC Syndicate, so perhaps they'll revisit Wildlands as well. :lollipop_pensive:

Been waiting to finish this campaign, which already looks excellent by the Pro muscling to a clean 1080p in performance mode.

Yisss.

As stupid as it sounds, if it wasn’t for GTA VI I think I would have returned my Pro by now.

Im realy mixed on the pro, 1st party stuff seems decent but the rest of the games not so good. I have a PS5 and the plan was to get a pro for my desk and move the PS5 downstairs but im put off by alot of the reaction, the thing that will probably make me cave will be GTA6. Im mainly on PC now days but its going to be some wait and thats 1 of the very few games I will play on release.

There's definitely still a chance and yeah Wildlands was peak Ubisoft goodness.

I am in the same boat, not impressed, DarkTide & others have actually impressed as games but that's only a handful

I agree if it wasn't for GTA VI then this would of been returned

The PS5 Pro launch is a joke. I'm sure it'll get better with time, and will be worth it for newly released games, but this is just unacceptable.

How was Sony communication and guidelines that bad that developers just won't implement it properly? I don't blame the devs, really. Sony should be on top of this from way before the release. What a mess of a job.

Are devs forced to implement PSSR? I'm sure all the teams knew what was going on. Not sure why not just update the game slightly without using PSSR if it wasn't up to standards.

In case anyone is wondering, the shimmery water has always been like that even since release, something about Massive and their Snowdrop engine really creates ugly ass water. Even on PC and Quality mode on PS5 it looked ugly as fuck. Its not a PSSR thing. That same water shader is used in Outlaws also which is another game on Snowdrop.

I just watched a high quality stream of Avatar. And I can say its definitely not as bad as SW Outlaws in terms of vegetation flickering and light sources causing disco lights around objects and stuff. It does look blurry though and for me still not high res enough.

I knew it was coming!

Now I'm going to hold off on playing further until this drops.

What's going on with PSSR?
First party games, while not perfect, seem to have good results when using it. But it looks like pretty much every third party game has issues.
Is Sony keeping the updated versions of PSSR to their teams only? or is it a combination of multiple factors that make PSSR implementation worse for third party games?

There are a number of good third party enhanced games actually - just look at Callisto Protocol, Lords of the Fallen, FF7 Rebirth, Dead Island 2, Dead Rising remaster, Dragons Dogma 2, BG3, RE4R, RE Village, Dying Light 2, & Hogwarts Legacy as examples. The issue is lazy developers.

Good to hear Space Marine 2 is getting an update. I was sitting on it in hope.

Hopefully not being rushed out as fast as some others means it's been tested properly too and is actually an improvement.

This.

Stellar Blade and No Man Sky are some other ones and NMS looks way better in and out of VR.

This narrative is getting ridiculous and it's based on literally a handful of games.

I wouldn’t call it a narrative. It’s an expensive machine and a lot of high-profile games are looking worse for wear on it. We can’t just pretend that they don’t exist.

Games that look and run better won’t garner as much attention because that’s what the Pro is supposed to do. You won’t shower someone with praise for doing their job. You will reprimand them if they don’t do their job, however.

It is not “a lot” of games. The vast majority of games perform and look better, not worse.

I would definitely call it a narrative at this point and to be clear it's ok to call out bad implementations.

But some people are acting like it's a some wide spread issue, when that's just not true.

There are like 80 games with Pro updates a few of them aren't great. I've tried out at least 20 games on it and pretty much all of them are pretty good upgrades over base PS5. Some more than others.

Yeah, I know there are games with nice enhancements. Redacted is worth mentioning too, it looks and feels really nice at 4K/120.
What I was saying was regarding PSSR. Out of the third party games that were enhanced with PSSR, how many are benefiting from using it and how many are having issues? that's what I'm referring to.
Could it be because of lazy devs? maybe. But I was just thinking that it couldn't be a coincidence it was mainly affecting third party games.

It’s definitely a lot and let’s not pretend that it isn’t. There aren’t 10 million high-profile games.
Silent Hill 2 and Jedi Survivor are the only high profile games I've seen that isn't a great update.

Alan Wake 2 and Star Wars Outlaws aren't really high profile in my opinion.

Most of the actual high profile games are great.

If we compare the number of games with significant issues (SH2, Avatar, Outlaws, Jedi Survivor, AW2) to those that do not have issues, they are very much the minority of games. The numbers don’t lie, and there’s no reason to try to portray otherwise.

Sony is not the issue here - the issue is lazy game developers who would rather put in a piss-poor effort to try to make a quick buck because their game will appear in the Pro Enhanced list in the PSN store, rather than put in a quality first effort with new technology.

The problem is that the "problem games" are the ones that need the most help.
