I hope there is a lot of physics going around.

So do I. The game is going for photo realism and I want to toss out a guess there will be a lot going on. I wonder if there will be enough of the system left over for physics?

It already comes across to me that it will be a demanding game. Given the info we have.

MGSV proved to me he doesn't understand open world game design. I don't have faith in this game at all.

I think based on how he described this game it will allow more freedom but the game wont be dependent on it. To me open world means fatigue so im glad to have options. Unless a game really gives you meaningful open missions its just a time sink. In mgsv he gave freedom in completing each mission how you wanted. Maybe in death stranding he will allow freedom both ways? I think its got to be an evolution. Mgsv went a bit further now DS will pish it some more. Too bad he cant use that fox engine....

Agreed.

I loved MGSV like most, but the open world was more or less pointless. All the missions took place in "zones" that could have just as easily been selectable missions.

And based on what we're seeing so far with Decima and Horizon, I think he'll be just fine without fox engine. MGSV ran great, but it was hardly a looker.

It was different from the engine they originally gave us, so we decided we should give this new engine a name. That’s when we came up with the ‘Decima’ name (derived from Dejima – an artificial island in Japan where The Netherlands and Japan would trade during the Edo period).
Jesus man give me a break. I hoped it was a name of a porn movie. All this culture it's exhausting.

Wow this GG collab looks to be epic, all the way down to the naming of the new hybrid engine. This is like the exact opposite of SK using Epic's Unreal Engine years ago.

Regardless of if Sony is paying GG behind the scenes and if that prompted this ostensible charity out of the goodness of their heart (not sure I believe it, just read another poster propose the possibility), it feels like GG are just as big fans of Kojima and share the same excitement for Kojima unchained as the rest of us. Like they aren't just taking pride in their engine but want to see Kojima have the easiest time possible bringing his vision to fruition.

Hype has skyrocketed to new levels and has this up there with Cyberpunk anticipation for me.

I got very tired of helicopter rides. But as far as fox engine looks it was held back by needing to be a cross gen title. When GZ first dropped it looked amazing on PS4. Graphics caught up too. Id like to see what it would have looked like as a PS4 exclusive or at least xb1/ps4 only.

Disappointed that we probably won't see a PC release now.

Still excited for the game though.

MGSV looked great on PC.

In order to get the game running at 60FPS at all times, they had to make some serious cutbacks to the draw distance for consoles.

It is not a Sony game...

It is a Kojima's game where they made a contract with Sony to delivery the game on PS4 and PC.

They of course can cancel the PC late but I don't think that will happen.
ethomaz..... Sony owns the IP of Death Stranding. It's a Sony game.

Every is a big word you know.

Heavy Rain, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, etc.
I don't know.

Looks to Everybody's Gone to the Rapture for example... it is on PC.
Sony owns the Heavy Rain IP, the Everybody's Gone to the Rapture IP, the Helldivers IP, the BEYOND: Two Souls IP and the upcoming DETROIT: Become Human IP.

They posted the trademark that means nothing.

Sony owns Everybody's Gone to the Rapture trademark in US too.

I guess people are not understanding how trademark works lol

They don't.

I used examples that Sony didn't own the IP.
Again: You are wrong.
Sony owns the Everybody's Gone to the Rapture IP.

Also this is a SUPER weird thing to say, but seeing Kojima do these positive collaborations with GG and Cerny is almost like watching a friend of yours end a shitty relationship and meet someone they really get along with. Like, he's divorced his abusive Konami spouse and moved on to someone who actually appreciates him....

.

So so true.

Why open world, Kojima? Do you want to make another MGSV: 90% gameplay and 10% plot and characters?

You've changed.

Though repetitive, I prefer it to their r Ubi style/GTA/elder scrolls open worlds in comparison. I hope the décima engine and non-konami meddling will truly let his genius shine.

I do think kojima is great at designing games, but I also think he needs an editor for its writing, to the point he retroactively damages that games that had good plot with convoluted story and asspulled twists , I still cannot digest the cobra unit was fungus people, and im not trying to defend Konami here, but giving free reign to kojima to do whathever he wants doesn't seem to be optimal, he already casted two Hollywood actors, while he still is recruiting staff, those priorities seem a little backwards, is common knowledge he loves Hollywood and always wanted to make movies, but Hollywood actors had been actually detrimental to some games, specilly kojima's own last game, so I dont know how he keeps pursuing that.

Like I said, I think he designs magnific games, but I fear how the other aspects of the game are gonna turn out like, and im hoping that its just me beign paranoid.
