What time is it?
Good luck. I got a warning back in February after playing Helldivers 2. I don't message people and generally keep my microphone off. I did revenge kill a group that were trolling me in game so the only thing I can think is that they mass reported me but that doesn't exactly match the criteria for the email Sony sent me. I tried contacted support for more information which was a fruitless exercise.

I'm sorry that happened. I still maintain if challenged in the courts, this wouldn't be deemed legal. Not being banned, but losing access to your games. They just stole from you. And no "You don't technically own them" doesn't suffice. That's just making shit up to steal with impunity. It makes no logical sense and would never hold up in the courts.

Some day this is going to be challenged and eventually it's going to change, just like loot boxes.

Do not share material that is pornographic, obscene, or that depicts extreme or abhorrent violence.

If that's the term OP violated, it's pretty hard to understand how content within an unmodded game sold on PSN can be pornographic.

Can one be banned for sharing a screenshot of a nude scene in cyberpunk or similar? Genuine question.

You can find much more interesting things on reddit, while everyone is alive, no one has been banned :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I split digital and physical so my eggs aren't all in one basket.

I didn't even know you could upload screenshot for other motherfuckers to look at that you didn't send directly to them. Seems like a violation.

I also don't have the several hundred full priced games necessary to equal 60k dollars in licenses.

That said, counting ps+ I do have probably a couple hundred licenses and if Sony ever banned my account over a legit in game screenshot they would be paying me back every fucking penny of my purchased license costs and I don't give a fuck if the screenshot is of balls and assholes, I'm getting my money I promise you this.

Do you voice chat? I think it's a bad idea and unnecessary.
I don’t, I know why I was banned. During the comcast hack last year my steam account got stolen and someone cheated in pvp on my account. Got my steam account back with in a few hrs but bungie won’t respond to me at all. Keep bumping the ticket every few months and nothing.

Maybe they just fired every one in that department…

This has happened several times here and at our sister site. At this point I don't presume anything cause Sony has horrible customer service.

This was an issue several months ago too with the automatic uploading of photos. It might have been on reddit. Just bug the hell of them and go on social media to amplify your message.

Remember weird fuckery too when rocket league came out

I don't know what's most shocking and unbelievable.
  • They banned you for saucy screenshots of a game they pushed hard.
  • You entrusted them with anything of value.
  • You had £40 grand worth of games.

I've been permanently banned from PlayStation Network for using the official photo mode in Stellar Blade. Apparently, the automatic upload feature flagged my harmless screenshots as explicit content.
Despite multiple appeals, Sony has refused to lift the ban. This has resulted in the loss of over £40,000 worth of games and complete access to my PSN account.
It's truly absurd that a simple use of an in-game feature could lead to such severe consequences.

I know ToS and EULAs don't have legal weight, but they will say that you never actually owned any of it, merely you solely were given access to them as long as met the code of conduct and the service was still live.

And the courts will likely do jack shit to challenge that. Perhaps if there were a group action lawsuit and years later you'd get compensation.

It's why I consider all digital purchases with DRM as merely indefinite rentals and one reason I buy games I like in physical form were possible.
