But they're still fucking buying them.
And as long as they do, the problems will persist and get worse. But apparently pronouns are where the line needs to be drawn in the sand? Absolutely laughable.
That sounds reasonable to you? Two trainings a year to keep up with this in the place of business? Does it make business sense or is it something else?Go to any corporate setting and almost everyone has their pro-nouns on their auto signature in outlook. We have two trainings on this a year to keep up with them all.. it's not that serious..

no i do not thank so.Did The Outer World have pronouns?
A game can only be laughed at so much if it’s got some v-sych issues or extra long load times.Im glad for you folks that you have found another game that you can drag through the mud and keep your little political agenda thing going. Fun times

Joke post?
Discuss it all you like. But its funny to me that the line is being drawn here, when more detrimental things to gaming were allowed to just happen. No it isn't. Politics is often the "the line" people draw. That MTX exists does not mean other issues cannot be discussed.
Slow day I guess. Much like the beyond late reaction to the Nier Rainbox Six Siege collab that had been out for a year and some change. Why is this even an issue? Why this needs a separate thread?

I don’t know about that. It's just the way we are doing it now, it's a better system. People are posting the MS org chart with the pronouns listed, but that is the norm in the corporate world. No-one wants to put 'male' in their email signature - but ironically without specifying pronouns you are pushing for people to use they or them unless you think most people can tell which pronouns to use for Ravindra or Si-woo.
Why is this even an issue? Why this needs a separate thread?
Interesting.I've been looking for a new job for a bit now, and I can't even tell you the amount of companies that have asked for my preferred pronouns. You either provide it, or you don't, and move on. I really just don't see stuff like this any different.
Because I love discussing gender identity politics with other young adults and middle aged men on a videogame forum. Why is this even an issue? Why this needs a separate thread?
You're missing the point.Where did you get this idea that people are not able to discuss more than one issue at a time? When something "detrimental" to video games happens then it is thoroughly discussed. This topic does not prevent that.
If it isn’t an issue to you maybe sit this one out, chief. Sounds like you will happily buy up any game these companies put out regardless of whether identity politics are included. Why is this even an issue? Why this needs a separate thread?
I dont mean on an org chart that is probably on the extreme side, but stating your pronouns in your signature is probably 50% or more with the people I deal with. I don't personally have it in mine as it just feels a little weird, but it's not exactly something that stands out nowadays.I don’t know about that.
I’ve never seen pronouns in any org chart. What I have seen is some people putting it on their outlook signature or LinkedIn profile. But never on an org chart.
Makes no sense to do it either. That would be like putting Mr, Mrs or Ms on an org chart too. The companies that do that is practically zero.
Why is this even an issue? Why this needs a separate thread?
A lot of it surely has to do with whatever the company is based. Majority of the positions were remote. I sure as hell haven't seen that locally, lol.Interesting.
I’ve had lots of interviews from recruiter screener interviews or direct from the company the past bunch of years.
I’ve never had a person ask me for my pronoun.
Probably also the type of company. The companies I was involved with were manufacturers and a bank. Not the kind of companies that go ape shit on pronouns or rocking the boat in stuff. And all local companies with hybrid wfh policies.A lot of it surely has to do with whatever the company is based. Majority of the positions were remote. I sure as hell haven't seen that locally, lol.
Weren’t the pronouns present in multiple other games, some consider excellent eg. BG3, CP2077 etc.Because it is a topic that is important to many people. There is an "ignore thread" button.
That’s the good answer.Because I love discussing gender identity politics with other young adults and middle aged men on a videogame forum.
I don’t have to prefer it, I don’t mind it, same I am not interested in protagonist, race, gender, pronouns, age etc. Such a stupid thing to judge game on. You will next tell me that you will not play game that is consider excellent/groundbraking because of pronouns? You call self a gamer? You want to make political statements. Video game forum is not a place for this.If it isn’t an issue to you maybe sit this one out, chief. Sounds like you will happily buy up any game these companies put out regardless of whether identity politics are included.
Unless you actually prefer it?
The sad thing about this is how superficial it is.I dont mean on an org chart that is probably on the extreme side, but stating your pronouns in your signature is probably 50% or more with the people I deal with. I don't personally have it in mine as it just feels a little weird, but it's not exactly something that stands out nowadays.
First I asked the question, and 2nd spring to mind why we need 2 separate threads about it, when it was already touched in the main Avowed preview thread. So you've somehow managed to enter 2 threads in a row asking for them to not exist?
This sounds like a you issue.
You're missing the point.
The "line" being drawn is people talking about not buying x, y, z games because of "woke ideology". That's fine, go ahead and do that. But where was this energy over the last 15 years, where MTX were railroaded, DLC and day-one patches became standard fare. When pre-order bonuses and pay2win mechanics were being inserted in to full-priced games?
People complained, but still bought the games. They still paid for the DLC. They still FOMO'd the pre-order bonuses. They still made vague excuses as to why the game that they liked was the exception and its the other games that were bad.

Stop kink shaming.why the fuck would u need to know the gender of a orc, are u trying to mate with it or something.
Stop kink shaming.
See if I see someone with pronouns in their signature - I just think are following fairly normal modern practices, and want to be called he or she or whatever, I don't assume they believe in anything.I hope many of you who eat up pronouns and politics realize many people do it for browny pts and truly don’t believe it.
Definitely field related I'm sure. I've been going through software and tech.Probably also the type of company. The companies I was involved with were manufacturers and a bank. Not the kind of companies that go ape shit on pronouns or rocking the boat in stuff. And all local companies with hybrid wfh policies.

I mean, I hope people don't think I am some pompous elitist asshole for putting Dr when I don't have a medical degree.
The pronouns aren’t a big deal in and of themselves, but it does strongly suggest where their priorities were in development. There’s a mountain of evidence from just the last year.
Nah pharma industry. I would never use Dr normally, but my company want clients to know that we have PhD's working on their shit.Do you work in the academic world?

The discussion about these pronouns is just a distraction for the fact that the game looks mediocre as fuck.
Now they can blame low (user) reviews and bad sales on Woke.
You literally just used a pronoun twice. Can I disable them completely? If not get them out of the game
That is the whole purpose of the woke agenda, to force it until everyone believes in it,Even if the pronouns have some kind of gameplay implication, I would prefer it this was optional or opt-in.
Forcing this on everyone is obnoxious.
