is there any review that does memory benchs? I have 6000mhz 36CL memory and want to know if its worthy to buy a 30CL one.

It’s really nice when we get a CPU like this because you can build a system around it today and not worry about full system upgrade for 3-5 years and just keep upgrading the GPU as needed.

Thank you AMD.

Indeed. And the next-gen processor (11800X3D or whatever) will likely also be AM5, so you could upgrade to that in a couple years without needing to replace your motherboard/RAM/etc.. and you'll be set for a loooonngg time

They didn't retire the 7800X3D. That was the 5800X3D.
But it's funny that AMD made the 5800X3D and the 7800X3D so good, that now they are having trouble competing with themselves.
This. I am still on the AM4 platform with a x570 mobo and I have an 5800X3D in the waiting, to install it with my next GPU and PSU upgrade. I figure if I get a decent GPU when installing the 5800X3D that I'll be fine for the next 3 to 5 years, and since I'm not the biggest graphics whore or have to be on bleeding edge technology this suits me just fine.

I had no trouble ordering the 9800X3D this morning

Newegg started taking orders like 20 minutes earlier than they had mentioned. I can't seem to find the Noctua NH-D15 G2 in stock anywhere but fortunately Noctua had sent me AM5 mounting hardware for my NH-D14 so I'll just use that for now. I tried to order the G2 on Newegg but they put it as a separate order and then was immediately cancelled due to insufficient stock. Then I tried to order it on Amazon but during the checkout process they also mentioned they don't actually have it in stock, sigh. Fortunately the 9800X3D seems to run cool so I'll see how it goes with my current cooler. Not sure why the G2 is so hard to find though.
Sadly the 9800X3D cannot be ordered anywhere in the UK and Amazon have no signs of stocking it as of yet.

Forget 3-5 years, it will probably last 8 - 10 years if you want it to. Unless something drastic happens in gaming hardware.

I agree but you have to keep in mind that we are on a gaming forum where there are plenty of enthusiasts who upgrade even if the gains are minimal…

There is a “case in point” currently ongoing on the console side lol

Currently if you are going for a budget “bang for buck” build the 5800x3d / AM4 is a great option, especially if you don’t mind used parts since I think there will be a flood of AM4 x3d CPU on the second hand market from people upgrading to the latest.

Yeah. It's cool that we can buy an 11800x3d in a few years if we want.

For what it's worth, I stopped at my local Best Buy and they do not have any stock, and they said they don't see anything in their distribution center either. So that's likely a no-go.

I don’t have it in my hands just that I ordered it got charged on my credit card and should be delivered between the 11-15 of November
Yeah ok then we are on the same boat . I have them a call and they told me they charge right away. When I put my postal code. They said Nov 10th ( but they don’t ship on weekend so most likely Monday Tuesday )

Sucks that our stores here are shit and take forever to even receive an item that was supposed to be on sale today

Wasn't going to upgrade but might have to pick one of these up next year on my Asia trip. Should be a nice upgrade from a 5800X3D.

Wanting to see more real world tests and scenario's though before committing. Only Optimumtech has really shown games in less CPU limited scenarios (DLSS+whatever mode).

In 1080p. With a 4090. Who plays like that?
Before you order anything, look up the differences in 4K instead.

Try 4k with DLSS and you will see framerate as above. Not many people play in native 4k now.

Also any 1% lows chart for that 4k?

Before pasting slides from Techpowerup, check out other reviews also. Plus they tested on older windows version not utilising Zen5 boost the newer update of W11 gave.

Guys, he solved the CPU/GPU market. Just play in native 4K, and you can still run your old 2600K since nothing better is never needed!

Also, now you need a 4090 minimum since you are playing in 4K. But that's no biggie, everyone has got 2000 dollars ready in pocket for that.

AM4 is the best platform we've ever had.

He is clueless about PC gaming, already proven in other thread.

I’ve looked at many reviews and they all show similar results. Big difference in 1080p. Less in 1440p. Barely anything in 4K. If you have other results then please post, I planned to upgrade from a 7900x but it seems like a waste from what I’ve seen so far. The only graphs that show big gains, like hardware unboxed, are showing low res scenarios where your system is CPU limited but if you’re playing at higher res the GPU will be the limit.

For example from polish purepc:
There are few games that even in 4k gets nice boost:
BG3, Assetto Corsa Competizione, MS Flight sim, Total War Warhammer.
So there are games that can take advantage of this CPU. It's rare and upgarding from something strong last gen doesn't really make sense. But from few generations back it makes sense.
Also VR and sim users should be happy because improved 1% lows.
