I think that was nice of them. Nintendo would have asked millions from them AND completely closed the project / team.

SONY contacted PSX Bunlith regarding Bloodborne Kart, needs to "scrub the branding off" of the project (which will still release)

Well duh! You can't just willy-nilly use other people's IP's (I'd love to remake/create a successor to Turrican, but I know it could never happen). I think this could actually benefit them making their own IP anyway, especially if it becomes successful and they would maybe want to monetise it in some way in the future and they'll get the publicity due to what has happened here.
