The 360/PS3 era was a gold mine, It seemed every game had a demo. Even $10 indie games had trials. Then it all disappeared the following gen where they were barely released.I just wish developers just release demos again. It's so simple to see if your setup could run the game at a reasonable framerate. But it also makes sense why they wouldn't want that in the first place lmao.

Have we really reached the point of teasing RTX 3080s?
Damn GAF get serious.
It cant be that hard to release a demo. But then it made sense when people would say a long time a go that it's better for them not to release a demo because there's a good chance it'll show gamers what a shit game it is. So better to not do it and hope gamers buy it blind on launch day at full price.
I've never seen a breakdown quite like XXL's, it's one for the GAF ages.Newest tactic of hurt Pro owners. Them DF videos exposing PSSR flaws took the jam out of their donut
Game pass is the demo. Download it, don’t like it, delete it - no £70 up front is lost.I just wish developers just release demos again. It's so simple to see if your setup could run the game at a reasonable framerate. But it also makes sense why they wouldn't want that in the first place lmao.
I am not shitting on the pro at all, all I shit on is defensive fanboys like XXL who cannot handle criticism of their new device. All products are open to criticism, he constantly tries to shut discourse down and has become a petty troll. It's weird because before the Pro release I don't remember him behaving like this. The Pro is a good device for people who want a more powerful Playstation 5 experience, that's the end of it.Pretty much none of the guys who behave all bitter and butthurt over the Pro have top of the line hardware. That's a large part of the reason why they behave the way they do.
Saw the same shit when the 4080 and 4090 prices got revealed, people hurling abuse at the people who were buying them.
Nope the RTX 3080 10gb is expired sauce. Even the 4080 I have is now struggling in some games. If you want to play at max settings 1080p with RT, many games won’t even give you 60 fps without DLSS. Cyberpunk, AW2, etc. It’s very poor. Even the 4090 can only give you approximately 60 fps at 1080p cyberpunk RT overdrive. If the 4090 gives you 1080p60, all other GPUs below 1080p60 are trash.Newest tactic of hurt Pro owners. Them DF videos exposing PSSR flaws took the jam out of their donut

Now why is this happening? Because devs are being lazy and pushing for RT to reduce their work and save money on development. That’d be fine if they passed the savings onto the buyers but they’re inflating their balance sheet with that money. Look at AW2 using RT to show your reflection in the mirrors. No RT, no reflection. Funny thing is that I’m playing Mafia 2 and it has your reflection in the mirror with no RT…. Wow, I wonder what magic previous devs used… its called planar reflections.
When I spend $1500 on just a GPU, you best believe I’m not turning down settings. Yes sure on a $299 Rtx 4060, you turn down all the settings you want. As we’re speaking now, the Rtx 4090 is no longer a 4k GPU. It’s a 1440p GPU. In UE5 games, you can’t even guarantee 4k60.You know you can just turn down the settings. Settings that are typically much higher than the consoles equipment settings even when lowering a tier.

Well, it would be extremely ugly marketing, stretching the picture from 720 to 4K using upscalers and advertising it as 4K, that's really low. It's basically considering your users as idiots. And this will immediately surface during the first tests. And there will be so many angry posts that it's simply not worth it.
Surely you see how that's worse.
- "The resolution is 4k!" (well actually not really it's maybe just 720p upscaled to insane degrees)
- "The framerate is 60!" (well actually not really there is one performance mode that kinda tries to hit 60 at certain points but there's zero promises)
Technological progress doesn't care how much money you spent on a years old product. I'll be turning down the settings with my 4090 in Stalker 2 in a couple of days and that's completely fine. I'd much rather have games with Lumen and Nanite than hitting native "4K 60".
Sony guys now piling on PC people for having a 3080...a card that costs as much as their ps5 pro...
I mean, good for you. The performance is not as a result of technology advancing but as a result of poor optimization. Lumen vs baked GI that’s well done is difficult to differentiate for the average user yet their performance profiles are drastically different. Nanite while cool just gives you better looking static set dressing worlds. Destruction and nanite are still incompatible. They still have to swap models to calculate the destruction. What’s the actual point when you can get sufficient lod management without nanite high performance costs.Technological progress doesn't care how much money you spent on a years old product. The visual outcome doesn't justify the performance penalty in a lot of cases. My eyes don't see marketing buzzwords, they see the final image being rendered on screen, and if that final image with stuff like Lumen and Nanite is not a marked improvement over what has come before the it could potentially have been better for the developers to appropriately leverage "old" technology and techniques in that instance.
And provided you use the correct DLSS setting, there should be no reason for people rocking 4090's or even 4080's to have to turn down settings in order to achieve 60fps in this title.
It's more that a 3080 isn't a "flex" as we go in to 2025.
I don't see any reason why somebody who has a 3080 or below should be attacking people who may have decided to purchase a pro, especially considering the fact that it's highly likely most 3080 purchasers bought their card during covid at horribly inflated prices. Ironically if we are talking about "value" for money, the 4090 is the only card that qualifies in the post-covid world.
Oh dude this thread is nothing. Look at what a fool he made out of himself on this oneFair enough, and to be clear I wasn't specifically referencing you, it's more the people who I've seen being disingenuous with their discussions and assertions regarding the whole pro vs PC nonsense, and that's not something I've seen from you.
XXL has decided to make himself a target for all of this becuase he's failed to appropriately pump the brakes. I mean, what are we even doing discussing this in a stalker 2 thread?

News - Analysis - Review - [Digital Foundry] Star Wars Jedi Survivor PS5 Pro: Severe Image Quality Problems... But RT in Performance Mode Is Nice
We've got issues with this one. While Star Wars Jedi Survivor serves up some upgrades over the standard PS5 - like the return of RT reflections to the performance mode - there are severe image quality concerns when elements like foliage interact with ray tracing. The end result is a strobing...www.neogaf.com

As for stalker 2, enjoy the game. I can’t even be bother to waste my bandwidth on it even though I get it for “free” with gamepass.
Is that a good thing now? A GPU costing more than a system. Don't tell me you're joining the "lol poors" rhetoric.Sony guys now piling on PC people for having a 3080...a card that costs as much as their ps5 pro...
What is happening to this place.
Where? Give a link. Drama with the morning tea is always better.I've never seen a breakdown quite like XXL's, it's one for the GAF ages.

Anyway this is a "Stalker doesn't run well on a XSX" thread maybe start dunking on the X instead like you do on Pro (while defending Series S). XXL is mostly taking the piss out of guys like you when he sarcastically says "just get a series s" in those Pro threads.
I'm asking if you're joining them with "my 3080 cost more than the Pro" talk all while complaining about the Pro price. Kind of hypocritical don't you think? It's the pro guys that started the whole "lol poors" thing. I think now they are maybe feeling a little like cerny and Sony bent them over a barrel with these early third party patches. I guess it's wait for the tools now?
Nowhere did they say it runs native 4k, the whole point was upscaling with PSSR. Others games upscale to 8k too. You were first in line to talk about "failed marketing" with Pro, remember? Now you're here defending advertising Stalker as 4k60fps because its XSX.Also. I'll happily say it doesn't run well when we have hard evidence. Trying to shit on a game for saying 4k 60fps in its marketing when the pro is out here doing the same then running at 864p is pretty special to see.
I linked the thread a few posts above yoursWhere? Give a link. Drama with the morning tea is always better.

Keep telling yourself that while the average user advocates against RT due to its terrible performance. On pc and consoles, users are outspoken in their disdain for the “insignificant” differences RT provides to the visuals. Since 2018, there are only 3 games where RT has a transformative impact on the visuals. Imagine cutting your fps down by 50% for a less than 10% improves in visuals in all but 3 games. You’re in the minority on this one chief.Nonsense
Well, I can't really say that I liked it from the very beginning. Of course, I understand that the 4K badge sells well and looks nice, but I would like at least some honesty towards the consumer (Well, at least indicate the upscale, and don't hide behind pure 4K). And I can understand the upscale, say, from 2K to 4K. But forgive me, when you need upscale frome 720p to grow to 4K, this basically means that your game is infinitely far from reaching 4K. If the boxes with the game had a sign, say, 4K (Upscale from 720p), there would be no questions. This is exactly what is happening with the ps5 pro and every game this generation. Why is it a problem now?

As for FPS, there is nothing special to discuss here, optimization in games is now, to put it mildly, one of the weakest points in the industry, and the fact that 60 FPS is indicated in marketing, at the same time, is achieved by the fact that you stand still and look at the floor, but in reality the game jumps between 50-60 FPS, everyone is already used to it, although I also can’t say that this is good.
The ability to play games with mods is what makes PC the master race. Not whatever videocard someone has.I know you probably meant this as a slight, but given Stalker's history with mods, this is good advice.
I'm done with it now.Fair enough, and to be clear I wasn't specifically referencing you, it's more the people who I've seen being disingenuous with their discussions and assertions regarding the whole pro vs PC nonsense, and that's not something I've seen from you.

Nonsense
Anybody with working eyeballs can distinguish which game is using raytracing lighting. The talk of baked lighting being able to look just as good was and still is pure cope.
Here is an example of a linear titles
You think the average user can't tell which one of these is using raytraced lighting?
Yup that's the real reason I'd like an upgrade. Getting harder to get around it.Edit: oh and 3080 10gb is still ahead of ps5 pro if you don’t go outside of 10gb vram.
This is exactly what is happening with the ps5 pro and every game this generation. Why is it a problem now?
Yes, we've all seen your "bromance" the last few days and it has been embarassing. I'll never understand why you don't you put each other on ignore and get on with your lifes.I am not shitting on the pro at all, all I shit on is defensive fanboys like XXL who cannot handle criticism of their new device.
PS fans always shat on STALKER
Isn't reflex just for the input lag and not performance??!It's going to run very well especially since we have access to Frame Gen and Reflex .
On a powerfull pc wilds run much much better that it's not even funny, played both on ps5 and pc and the difference was gargantuan (the game still look like a mid ps4 game tho, that doesn't change).its a fact. PCMR just dont accept it.
Its the same everytime once the game released on PC, "game crash", "game runs at low FPS", "game stutter", "game bad optimization" threads starts flooding on social media.
One of the best examples is monster hunter wilds beta lol, origami textures xD
