Really wonder if Minecraft could be huge in Japan too. US version of Minecraft has already been in top 20 of amazon.jp since its launch...
Any predictions for Hyrule Warriors?
My uneducated guess would put it easily between 250-400k. Is that too high to expect?
LTD sales of the first game:
3DS Attack on Titan: 290,489
Demon Gaze did fine though. 200k shipped. I know, shipped, but compared to Atlus' Persona brand, Experience Inc. games is nothing even when all they create is cartography games.
Blu-ray/DVD sales of the first release:
1. LoveLive!:108,363
2. Attack on Titan: 83,683
3. Sword Art Online: 45,372
LTD sales of the first game:
PSV LoveLive!: ????
3DS Attack on Titan: 290,489
PSP Sword Art Online: 227,000
Perfect logical deduction tells us LoveLive! for the Vita will sell well in excess of 300k units...

Murdered: Soul Suspect biggest bomba so far this year ww?
I agree that he is most likely only talking about personal preference, but i was wondering if he thought that making those game for another platform would hinder sales potential, and then its not just an arguement about what he personally likes. Nirolak's post was about sales, and this is a sales thread, so its not that obvious that hes only talking about his preference, in my opinion. Otherwise i wouldnt have asked i then first place =)
I think it's worth mentioning Madoka too:Blu-ray/DVD sales of the first release:

It has huge potential which is why Nintendo's looking into a deal for it.Really wonder if Minecraft could be huge in Japan too. US version of Minecraft has already been in top 20 of amazon.jp since its launch...

Minecraft 3D million seller?
Sony has published Minecraft everywhere but Japan, I wonder if Nintendo has an exclusivity deal.
And from what I have read, the 3DS can't run Minecraft very well: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/07/developer_hints_at_how_minecraft_could_shape_up_on_3ds
Anyway, the longer they wait the less it will sell.

This guy.I think it's pretty safe to say PS4 is dead in Japan.
There's no turning that ship around.
I would say it just hasn't been born yet. Try again in 9 months.I think it's pretty safe to say PS4 is dead in Japan.

This may seem an odd thing to say in a MC/Famitsu thread, but why does anyone think that in this day and age, Sony and Microsoft really give a rat's ass about the Japanese console market in the grand scheme.
(Nintendo is seeing a disproportionate amount of their low sales coming from this market so presumably it's still of importance to them)
Does anybody in this thread really think if I have $100M to spend on producing games for a console it's more worthwhile to create games specifically for one market with specific culture, language and tastes that differ from the rest of the global market rather than producing SKUs that are aimed at the collective rest of the console industry?
Opportunity cost.
Saying Sony dropped the ball on the Japanese market presumes that this isn't according to keikaku - not the selling like shit in Japan part, but the focus on the much more lucrative Western console market at the expense of devoting resources specifically to the Japanese market.
Pretty much. When the bigger games actually start showing up in 2015, and the PS4 only shows 1 week spikes and drops back to abyss, then you may call the boy dead.I would say it just hasn't been born yet. Try again in 9 months.

When GTA5, MGSV, and Bloodborne are released and HW is still ashes, then you have my permission to die.

I don't think MGSV will have that much of an effect on PS4 sales since it isalso releasing on PS3not coming out anytime soon
Yeah, it's always hilarious when games don't sell well.Wii sports club is hilarious.
Years after the 4DS is on sale and Sony have left the handheld market people will remember the day that one niche RPG sold a couple of thousand more.None. But if a game is on both 3DS and Vita, there is a stronger incentive to get the Vita game due to the better graphics. That's what happened with Conception 2.

Well didn't Konami say "early 2015"? So, I assume if anything, that means first half of 2015. That's honestly better than I was anticipating.Fixed.
Fixed.
No matter how good the Vita released are, both Freedom Wars and Oreshika didn't increase units by a big margin.

I don't think they can really be expected to. There have been enough of quirky Japanese RPGs and multiplayer action titles released on the Vita to attract the core group of gamers interested specifically in those genres in Japan. At this point nothing is really going to drive Vita growth dramatically unless there's something which is expected but very successful outside that box which would make a lot of people who weren't previously interested in owning the system buy into it.
This is really random, but what were the final LTDs for all the 5th gen consoles in Japan?

And Super One Piece Grand Battle X to be announced in Monday's Weekly Shonen Jump (for 3DS)
how much does the KH games sell in japan? I wonder with these numbers if KHIII being ported to the wii u is being considered.
