Wii U is so dead.
What does it have between now and Pikmin besides sub 5k weekly sales?
I have this morbid desire to see it sell less than the 360. I mean, at least the later has games charting.

Even Sin & Punishment 3 would have more chances to save Wii U than Senran Kagura.
Yeah except you missed the biggest reason on why PS Vita is failing which is its lack of third party support or even first party support.
PS4 is in unknown territory right especially as we don not know the games, or the price two massive factors.

Let's be honest, Sony's first party ain't saving any platform in Japan nowadays.
Yeah. I should have just said GT but even then that is rumoured for ps3. Knack may be PS4's best title in Japan.
The PS4 is probably going to rely strictly on 3rd parties and will probably sell pretty meh in Japan until big name games start to hit it exclusively.
I have this morbid desire to see it sell less than the 360. I mean, at least the later has games charting.
I just hope that the PS4 doesn't decide on launching in Japan first. I hope for a worldwide launch but it should be centered around EU or USA. EU has been detrimental in supporting the PS3, while the US has been turned into a XBOX centered territory, which gives them reason to launch it first there to try to coup the lost market share.

D:
I can't see it doing well except with unbelievable support (like all exclusive to 4 and the biggest ones... and insanely low prices, neither of which will happen).
It doesn't matter if it's a good price for it, it will still be a big, unnecessary, expense for the console itself, which is problematic these days. I bet it will be like a year or two before PS4 is doomed dies down.
Also I don't agree that games are the biggest reason for Vita failing. Price again, market habits. Of course games as well, but not to the extent that people make out, imo. Fifa 12 and CoD deshite is enough for Europe. The price wasn't right for the amount that could be bothered to play on a dedicated handheld, and without insane ads, that won't change. Games are however what Sony should be focusing on, of course.
Pms telling Wii owners to transition to Wii U.Wii U is so dead.

Let's not generellyze. The vast majority of retail stores still sell the 3DS above 200 and Vita above 250.And in Europe Vita has regularly been price slashed near the 3DS price.
Can't say I agree. Pretty sure that might be different when we finally get news on the Final Fantasy for next-gen consoles. I assume even if its cross-gen it will still be able to push PS4 to a early mild success, or at the very least more successful than the launch of the wii-u.

Like One Piece? Why the long face? Isn't it good if BN are happy with the sales? They're happy = more (and better) DBZ games on 3DS!

Fnac comes to mind. Fona. MediaMarkt (although they usually do good disccounts). Each country has their own big retail chains. What store sells Vita above 250€?
Alright just so we are all on the same page here
how much must ps4 or a console in general be selling in japan to be considdered " geat" and not "meh " ?
Again. Europe is a somewhat big place. If Mediamarkt is selling Vita+Sly for 199 in Germany and Amazon is selling Vita+LBP for 199 in Germany that usually means you can get it for that or less at pretty much every (German) retailer.
Again. Europe is a somewhat big place.
To be honest I don't think I'll be able to make such claim for much longer. Due to work I travel a lot and what I found is that retail stores seem to be finally catching up to the prices that have been practiced on-line for the past months. So I expect prices in both retail and on-line will converge in the near future. But for now most stores still practice MSRP.Okay, fair enough, some retailers in Europe sell it for more. Consider me surprised. Given how much its price has plummeted in Germany (Vita+4GB Memory Card+LBP for 199) I'm honestly shocked it's not cheaper elsewhere. However the claim that "The vast majority of retail stores still sell the 3DS above 200 and Vita above 250" seems laughable when you can get it for much less at least in Germany and Italy, two important markets.
There are still people for whom their price reference is based only on the flyers in their mailbox. You would be surprised. So the excuse is that consumers who want to purchase a Vita are completely and willfully ignorant of all competing retail locations that offer it at a discount and are only aware of the ones that charge retail?
PS4 LTD for the first year:
1 million or less = horrible
1-1.5 million = meh
Near 2 million = great
2 million + = Amazing
3 million + = PS2/1
If you mean for the first full year it's on the market I'm a little confused. Does that mean by this scale Wii U is likely going to hit "meh" status?

Bruno MB doesn't seem to have updated his Animal Crossing running tally, but it looks like New Leaf's week 25 beat Wild World's week 25.

It has been fun to follow this. Considering how big of a hit Wild World was, it wasn't that surprising that New Leaf got off to a to a bigger start, but it will be very interesting if New Leaf ends up showing even stronger legs.
Yeah, that's the link, I'll quote Vita's "future lineup":
Underlined came true (I might be wrong with a few though).
I think you're being pretty optimistic on the console side of things.
I guess that's true. I was only looking at it from one angle. I guess system install base for each sales week would be another interesting thing to look at.Given how many follow-ups to DS million sellers failed to repeat the same numbers, AC's success wasn't really that predictable, at least not with this scale. Nintendo was going to ship just 200k units in the first week...

IF wii u keeps going as it is now at approx 10.000 a week it will sell 552.000 units this year.
which would bring LTD to 1.448.074 .
just not enough to "great" status .
Of course this is without taking Nintendo releasing first party titles on it in considderation..
He should have said first full year (meaning first Jan 01 - Dec 31 period).
Sales lull in the summer months, and massively pick up in the fall. These straight linear calculations never go anywhere.IF wii u keeps going as it is now at approx 10.000 a week it will sell 552.000 units this year.
By then the WiiU would of been on the market for more than 1 year though.
What I meant was a time period of 1 year form the day its released.
November 2012-November 2013.
Looking back now it my status things make the WiiU seem pretty good lol. I think the way you said it is better.

Jesus H Christ. Everyone always says panic Nintendo is so good but I disagree.I just noticed that in Famitsu Wii U YTD is under Vita 2012 YTD after the same amount of weeks.
Damn. If anyone predicted that before the Wii U launched people would have called him crazy.
