It's like the ink and the printer analogy. Give the printer away for a low price, charge a fortune for the ink. You pay more for the hardware, with a pc, but the money you save on games (especially if you buy lots of them) is pretty insane. Plus paying for online with consoles sucks.
For me when I can buy 15 games for $200 bucks in a sale as opposed to just one game for $70 on a console it's no contest. Plus, the PC is always going to be more useful in the long run. Granted I'm more of an indie/play a triple a game later type, but it works for me.
*Actually, Sony has ruined the ink and printer analogy with the Pro. Pay more for your hardware, pay more for your games, lets add a sub for online on top of it all. LOL!!!
