30 fps with dynamic resolution even? What the hell?
Dragon’s Dogma 2 has nothing to do with how powerful your components are, it’s simply shoddily made.PCs are not some wells of infinite power, like Dragons dogma 2 shows.
Those days have been gone for over a decade. So for Xbox, gone are the days of having first party studios release cutting edge technical showcase experiences to excite with what the platform can do. Come on Xbox, at least try to show some effort. Why not even a 40fps mode?
Hellblade doesn't seem like a game where your gonna have alot of things happening alot at once to tax the CPU.Courtesy of the beautifully modern Zen2 architecture no doubt..
As if it is about the architecture. -_-'Ooof!
Personally, I'd be surprised if The Last of Us 3, or the new Barlog IP, or that Marvel 1940s game are 60 fps. I don't think this is all that shocking. So for Xbox, gone are the days of having first party studios release cutting edge technical showcase experiences to excite with what the platform can do. So far Sony have been great for providing lots of technical options. Leaving aside SonyToo# For a walking simulator? Come on. This is shit.Personally, I'd be surprised if The Last of Us 3, or the new Barlog IP, or that Marvel 1940s game are 60 fps. I don't think this is all that shocking.
Can't tell if serious.Excellent news. Proof that the Xbox hardware was squeezed properly and the studio achieved what it had in mind without worrying about the usual whiners.
Rise of Hydra will almost definitely be 30fps (UE5 seems to struggle at 60fps on consoles for some reason if they are using nanite etc.), the other two, its current gen Sony, they like to have 30 and 60fps modes, they have done it all gen so far, however, with Pro maybe they will start targeting 30fps on PS5 and 60fps on Pro, who knows.Personally, I'd be surprised if The Last of Us 3, or the new Barlog IP, or that Marvel 1940s game are 60 fps. Can you speak like a normal human being without hash tags? I'm talking about graphically demanding cinematic games and listed the 3 main ones I can think of. Do you think any of those are going to be 60 fps? I don't obsess about graphics all day like some people on here, but the sense I get is that they wont. I think that Marvel game is also Unreal 5. And Naughty Dog has never launched a game at 60 fps. You're talking about technical showcase games so that's why I mentioned it.So far Sony have been great for providing lots of technical options. There is nothing next gen about gaming at 30fps. I’d take lower graphics and better framerates any day of the week. Good thing I don’t have to choose though on my PC but still gaming at 30fps in 2024 is a joke. I’ll never be caught doing that. This is for people who want next generation graphics. If you don't like it you can play some remasters or crossgen at 60 fps.
What about the PS5 Pro version?
I think Mr.Phoenix makes the excellent point too, around the Series S and X parity. There is nothing next gen about gaming at 30fps. I’d take lower graphics and better framerates any day of the week. XSX is around 2x faster than X1X and maybe 2.5-3x faster than ps4 pro. Games on these platforms were mostly 30fps. So by going to 60fps most of the available power is already used, at the same fidelity. This game targets higher fidelity hence 30fps. If you want more there is always pc option, it's not like you have to wait few years for the port. There is nothing next gen about gaming at 30fps. He is an idiot. He almost definitely was referring to 60hz being the standard output whilst the console supports 120hz because that's correct. If the developer chooses to go with 30fps then that's on them. Who fucking knows why he decided to respond like that though, he was asking for trouble.Ooof!
If y'all want the Matrix Experience fidelity and effect-work, then yeah, expect 30 FPS games in the coming years.
I believe any and everything published by Sony will come with a 60fps mode. What ifs can be cool and all, but the simple fact is that this gen, every single game published by sony, has had both a 30 and 60fps mode. And I even suspect the Marvel's Unreal game could also have a 60fps mode too. I mean Alan wake 2 had one...Can you speak like a normal human being without hash tags? I don't think the games I mentioned will have 60 fps on a base PS5. Everything that has been 60 fps have been supped up PS4 games (Horizon 2, Spider Man 2, God of War 2). Horizon looks phenomenal, but personally I expect Naughty Dog and the next Barlog project to be a large step above all of the previous Sony stuff so far. Ghost 2 could be 60 fps though. Just my prediction. We'll see.I believe any and everything published by Sony will come with a 60fps mode. I don't get why Sony is being brought into this though, there is more reason to think they would put out games with 60fp modes (regardless of how you may want to dismiss them) than anyone else. I mean, we can afford them that at least, when they release their first PS5 game without a 60fps mode, then we can add them to these kinda conversations.
I do feel a conversation needs to be had about MS Studios though. This is not the first time they have put out a game that only had a 30fps mode, unless Redfall also falls into your "technical showcase" description. And as I said earlier, DF showed that using that replica XS CPU paired with a 6700 GPU, the XS could run starfield at 60fps when the rez was dropped. Albeit not consistently, but that is just an indication that with more time spent on optimizing the engine, they could have got a 60fps mode in there. They took the easy way out instead and just capped the framerate to 30fps across the board and called it an artistic choice.
And this cinematic showcase thing is really just a lot of hot air. Unless a game is CPU-limited off the jump, you can increase its framerates by simply tweaking the rez and IQ assets. Thats because in majority of the cases, most of those games a GPU bound. Unless you feel that a walking simulator where you navigate through tight spaces, small slices of maps...etc is just as equally taxing on a CPU as an open-world game with hundreds-thousands of NPCs/objects on screen at any given time.
SM2 isn't on PS4.I don't think the games I mentioned will have 60 fps on a base PS5. Everything that has been 60 fps have been supped up PS4 games (Horizon 2, Spider Man 2, God of War 2). I think the most next gen thing I've seen was Demon's Souls personally, so that was and still is super impressive to me.
Ratchet Rift apart (which is still arguably one of the best-looking games this gen so far complete with RT and all even in its 60fps mode), Returnal, Demons Souls (which even launched with the console), Alan Wake 2 (a proper UE5 game), Stellar Blade, hell even FF16 and now rebirth... ALL had 60fps modes. And I could list out more if you want.I don't think the games I mentioned will have 60 fps on a base PS5. Some think this is good. Logic, where?Console players love to proclaim that they're fine with 30fps because that means they have the best graphic presets. Then you actually have to move the camera.
Such detail.
Im already expecting 30fps for console. If it means waiting next gen for possible 60fps.. im all for it. Push it as much as possible. Im sure PC gamers want this too?And so it begins, just wait until they announce GTA is 30 fps
yeah it began with the technical marvels called redfall and starfield lolAnd so it begins, just wait until they announce GTA is 30 fps
Lol whoever thought 30fps will go away, is an idiot.Ooof!

Anyway, bit off topic.
