I don't get the fearmongering for Dragon Age when it's clear that Astro Bot will win in most of the GOTY events out there.
From there it's either Metaphor, Final Fantasy or Balatro.

The best RPG category might be stolen away from FF7 Rebirth or Metaphor, which any of the two really deserve it, by DA:VG just to make a statement and agenda push. I hope that will not happen.

Remakes shouldn’t be allowed or the same rereleased games would win every other year. FF7 and Silent Hill 2 shouldn't be allowed.

Wukong is a deserving front runner. A lot of effort and passion went into that game and it delivered after the long wait.

I agree in principle -- but FF7R -2 is very different than FF7. Enough for me personally to say no, they're different games. More of a reboot than a remake. I haven't played the Silent Hill games, so I can't speak for them, though

Astrobot, helldivers 2 and metaphor. It's hard to decide. I will go for helldivers 2. It's the most fun I've had in 2024 and I still play it.
Some people are thinking that FF7 rebirth deserve it, but that game was a convoluted mess that falls apart, had a padded open world design and not many people I know liked the way it ended. Hardcore fans were not happy and the casuals were super confused at the end. I don't see that game winning to be honest.

I couldn't care less what these awards show do, I played the game it was fantastic and it sold pretty damn well despite being niche and coming out same month as FFVIIRebirth.

Yeah, it's my GOTY still, but getting a nomination at these award shows would help with word of mouth which in return will bring in even more sales for the game which Unicorn Overlord totally deserves IMO.

I 100% agree with you I also like to see this game get the recognition it deserves but it’s Ogre battle style SRPG in which is super niche in already busy year. It's thanks to word of mouth that this game manged to sale well, just like 13 Sentinels did.

Wait, am I right in thinking that they added Dragon Age: The Veilguard but left out Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2? Are they okay? Honestly, looking at the nominees, I'm pretty sure that Astro Bot will take almost everything, so I'll vote for Metaphor Refantazio, since it's probably the biggest surprise of the year.

P.S - Can we already make a separate nomination for Remakes? SH 2R and I do not belittle its merits, but it is, to put it mildly, unethical in relation to those people who made the original, wrote all the dialogues, the story, the music, came up with the world, etc. And yes, the guys did a good job, but they were actually given one of the best horror games. They did not come up with the characters, did not write the plot, did not create this world, etc.
