Fucking great scores, love it, cant wait.

im debating between getting it on the switch, or the ps5. Any major differences besides resolution/frame rate?

In a Review i've heard Switch version might be 30fps and PS5 60fps but don't quote me on that.
From the Review the graphics are very nice and homogenous. Fluid controls and fantastic Architecture.
Anyways, how about a Secret of Evermore remake in HD-2D graphics?

Lot of review taking issue of its being too “old school” in terms of design but this actually makes me happy and makes hopeful of DQXII.
that’s when QOL features makes the game even better. Speed up half the stuff from the original and it becomes that much better.

Some good review scores on this one. Not enough to convince me to buy this D1, but I'll probably pick it up at some point next year.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
At the moment, no one's claimed it.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Why you passing on this?
Really? I've seen more woke games than this one. It's just really minor differences to the original.
I'm not paying for censored games. Maybe I wouldn't care so much if it was another game, but I really like both DQ games and Toriyama's art, so it really would feel wrong for me to give them money for this.

But hey that's one me, don't want to make it sound that I think buying the game is bad nor anything like that. Have fun for me, I'll stick to the SNES version. :goog_relieved:

FWIW Square has cut ties with SBI so we only have to suffer their buffoonery with this game. Buying this won’t encourage Square to continue working with SBI.

You used to get away with racier depictions of women in the past.

Now there are ratings on games and you can't get away with it.

Posted in the OT asking, but any reviews mention the resolution or blurriness with the Switch version? I know Octopath 1&2 in handheld mode suffered from it.

There's frame drops below 30fps on switch and some light blurring on sprites

On the performance side, there are some minor frame pacing issues I noticed, but one specific early game town struggled to maintain 30fps in the night with lanterns and other NPCs moving around.

If you played and enjoyed prior HD-2D games on Switch, this will not be much different outside of some drops here and there. I was disappointed in the lack of HD Rumble since I enjoyed its use in the Octopath Traveler games.
I got it for ps5, I have no interest in portability and I dont bother with switch versions unless it's an exclusive, the hardware is obsolete as hell.

Daniella Lucas of Eurogamer gave it three of five stars because she said it wasn't friendly enough to new players, but no one seems to be talking about that here for some reason. Imagine if she had docked the score of a From Soft game because they don't have accessibility options, people would be burning her at the stake.

From Software fans are nut jobs. No one should give a shit what Eurogamer has to say anyway.

Freelance writer for Eurogamer who uses pronouns in her X. Not worth the effort.
