Trails through Daybreak II - Announcement Trailer | Coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC on Feb 14, 2025

After getting the plat in Daybreak 1 this will probably get put on the back burner for a bit. There's just so much out there right now and getting the plat on the first game took me over 2 months. With that said I see the team from reverie is getting involved which makes me not want to wait. I don't know what I'll do. Getting behind in Yakuza again also.

Another one to add to the backlog! Just started Cold Steel 4.

I loved Cold Steel 4 but it was information overload in that game. They revealed so much. I always wanted to go back and replay it taking my time and really taking the whole store in.

Lezzz gooo! I finished Daybreak a month ago after finishing Reverie. That was nearly 400 hours of playing of Trails games back to back. Even though I love these games (cough-my nick-cough), I was near depletion. That is why February is good for me. Reaaaaally good actually.

I'll recharge my Trails-meter to the full until that time and attack this game on February!!!

Another February game. Feb '25 is turning out to be the most packed month in year(s)
I swear this happens every year, all the games that want to avoid the big heavy hitters in October/November get pushed to February instead causing that month to be absolutely insane

I mean look at February this year, we had Persona 3: Reload + GranBlue Fantasy Relink + FFVII: Rebirth all within ~30 days? not to mention everything else that came out around February which there was quite a bit

you’re a bit further than I am at least, I’m only on Cold Steel 3 Chapter 1 Part 2 😅

There’s just way too many. It’s like Marvel, how would I even keep up at this point. And for that matter, too many games in general these days. My backlog is hopelessly long.

Do these games sell well world wide? Or are they more niche games?

They are niche but sell well enough for the studio to keep going with them.

Yea I'm thankful I caught up to both Yakuza and this series by the time we started getting flooded with so many good games.

Well, they are releasing Trails game since 2004 and it has been 12 games with the Daybreak 2 (excluding latest game which don't have official English language yet). Agree with @ M mayham2199 that they are niche but they have created not the biggest but good fanbase around the world.

The best thing is Nihon Falcom is really feeding their fanbase and not really seeking "new players to sell more" and that give their games somewhat DEI, woke free environment. They stick to their lore and what they created and don't change things to "please some other audience".

And lastly all these games are connected to each other. That is something I didn't see anywhere else or I cannot remember right now. This is what impressed me most about Trails games. All games connected each other and they really give you some "living world" impression. Not like all other western (or eastern in recent years) compaines to "retcon" their previous games or all together erase their previous lore and "remake" them. They have continuity herre and I really love this aspect of the Trails games so much that I really cannot praise it enough.

I do think the remake of Sky is an attempt to bring in more fans.

Mass Effect and Dragon Age attempted what Trails is doing now but clearly didn't do it on this level and in the case of DA kind of failed at it. Mass Effect did it the best out of the two but neither really touched what Falcom is doing.

I hope they succeed since that remake looks good. I wouldn't mind playing a remake with that type of quality. My only worry would be if they cut out anything

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Someday I'll catch up. I've been buying all of the games as they release and I just need to stop getting inundated with other RPGs and focus on Trails for a bit. But we're uh... basically caught up at this point, aren't we? I guess we'll be 1 game behind whenever the next one drops presumably this year.

Like, do you guys remember the absolute shitshow that was getting Trails in the Sky SC? A lot has changed.

The other more mainstream example of this is of course Kingdom Hearts.

Yes you're right, KH is connected. Was a huge fan as well but with KH3 I felt that they were kinda forcing story to branch it to give way to the new KH games. KH3 should have been the grand finale. But as always this is my opinion. Also in KH3 they really really dumbed down Sora for his reactions to the happenings. Always and always giving the same reactions bored me to the death. He was much more on previous games we were seeing his character development as well (even if it was to a degree).

Yeah with the Daybreak 2 on February we'll catch the Japan releases excluding the newly released game. I believe they will also localize the latest game on 2025 as well.

Sorry for the double post. You're right to the point. ME Trilogy was really well connected on mainstream level and I love them and will always love the trilogy. DA games are connected as well but unfortunately they had DA2 shit in their CV. But unfotunately the Bioware we knew long lost, that is why I find myself hard to trust them. They couldn't give us more DA: Origin level DA games. I say this as a person as I like DA: Inquisition.

For their latest DA game shitshow I have already given up hope. DA Origins is my favorite of all times but look what they did to my favorite universe. This is what I'm talking about for consistency about Falcom's Trails games.

I do miss the fact that in Kuro they got rid of the romance options. The connection stages in Kuro are just not as interesting.

I understand why they didn't though. After four games I'm fine with the Main Lead having only one Main Lead Female Romance and it looks like it's Agnes which I want 👀

Elaine can just F off

Same. I never thought I'd go back and replay the old games. It's to hard for me to go back to that style of game unless I'm really in the mood for that which is rare. These remakes though will 100% get me to replay them.

Already chopped through Daybreak. Normal mode too easy. Hard was easy too until the last boss. Imma try Nightmare on this one.

I did nightmare for my first run (trying to get the plat) and was shocked at how easy it was. As long as you stay the same level as the boss you'll win. With that said the final boss was hard as hell and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to beat him but I just kept trying and eventually won.

The last boss was the only time I had to space my party out so they couldn't attack them all at once. Only time I had to dig into my stocked up items to replenish CP.

So on nightmare I had to pretty much do that the whole time. Basically just use Van to keep using the coin toss and keep aggro and then use arts with the rest of the team. Otherwise any AOE damage makes it hard to keep healing everyone which pretty much all bosses do AOE.
