I have to admit the way people hate on Xbox is sad lol Sony is the golden child because Ps4 was great and now Xbox is the red headed step child that cant do anything right 😅 I have such great memories associated with all platforms. My hope is they improve and they have been from my perspective. Game pass is great. Loved hellblade 2. Loved Starfield. Stalker 2 coming in a week or so. Indiana Jones a month later. Avowed in February. Fable next year. South by Midnight. Idk lol seems to me theyre headed in the right direction 🤷‍♂️
Brave posting that on here....!

Amanda love.

It's always been about games Xbox. Why do we keep having to remind you? Your ads blow

Hold up...didn't she voice Ashley in RE4 Remake?

That face (dat bod) and that name seem familiar.

Did you play Death Stranding yet? It's the good version of Hellblade 2 😉

That's very typical of Microsoft's messaging.
I can see their vision. It makes sense on some level. But they are far from achieving it so I wonder why they chose to do the ad campaign now. The Xbox ecosystem is so fragmented.

Bnet
Xbox App
Game Pass App
xCloud App
Xbox console

What games you can access on those services is not consistent. Some games are play anywhere. Most games are not. Games they own like Fallout 3 and New Vegas have two versions, one for consoles where you have to buy all the DLC piece meal, and the GotY versions on the Xbox app that have no achievements.

Sarah Bond says they're working on making our Xbox game library compatible on future devices, but how is that going to work? How do they plan on making a cohesive ecosystem that combines everything into a straight forward user experience?

Thank goodness. I thought MS had completely lost it. You never know with their management today.
People see what they want to see but nothing has changed here except their blunt PR message. What they’re saying is that you can access their library on devices where their launcher app exist or through a browser for streaming. = Windows devices, Xbox consoles, devices for browsing the web.

But in theory PS5 could 100% be ”an Xbox”. IF Sony allowed Microsoft to have their app on the system. But I doubt that Sony wants this, would be similar to when Epic wanted into iOS with their store/launcher, trojan horse and all that and would cut the 30% cut compared to having ports plus disrupt the regular market through Gamepass.

You folks are thinking about this the wrong way. This ad signals our ecosystem is everywhere including ps consoles.

If all 3rd parties are multi platform including Sony then it’s about how to grow software sales beyond your box. Therefore the real question is which publisher can grow.

We have a situation where Xbox top 20 titles include msft games. Therefore expansion beyond the box is great for msft. This will be the measuring stick for others attempting the same for growth.

they are still trying 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

That place is pathetic.

They put the ad in a dead part of the city. Bet almost no foot traffic goes through that area.

The ad doesn't really convey that at all. If they wanted to convey their ecosystem is everywhere (including PlayStation), they should've made it about the ecosystem experience. Referring to a bunch of other physical devices and saying "they're an Xbox" is just reinforcing Xbox as a physical box, only vicariously through other physical boxes.

A casual viewer is likely to still ask "Okay, then. What's it do? What's it about?", because the ad doesn't inform on any of that. Xbox never built a global association with gaming the way PlayStation did, or Nintendo has. So to a casual who doesn't follow gaming and hasn't touched an Xbox, they're still asking "What's an Xbox?".

I really hope this guy is getting paid as his shilling is truly next level. The shit he spews would make Jez Corden blush.

They (XboxERA) made a card game about console wars. I'm not even kidding:

So yeah, they live for this 😂

Seeing that ad outside, it looks particularly weird. The way it's showing a single panel of the full image takes away the context of "everything being an Xbox". With just the laptop there, I don't see how this means anything to anyone who isn't following news.

To make it work on the same level as the full ad they'd have to buy up all the advertising in the whole area and spam every board with a different _____ is an xbox and the occasional _____ is not an xbox, so every few feet you're seeing a different one.

Even then it's still leaving people no better informed, it still fails the same way the full ad fails as it doesn't inform why, just offers the vague idea that xbox is now ethereal and no longer a physical box at all. So it's over to the viewer to go out of their way and find out, and good luck with that in these days of goldfish-tier attention spans.

At least they didn't put the "This is a cat box" picture. Because they could have, knowing how smart they are.

I mean sure i own an Xbox series X, when I get my new PC I plan to use it alongside my PS5 Pro, Playstation VR and Switch OLED for a size Comparison with the RTX 5090 when that hits.

I do use it the least out of all of my consoles honestly, I mean if it's worth playing it's also on Playstation and with me cancelling my Xbox Live gold it's essentially there as a 4k Blu-Ray player so I don't have to switch game discs out my PS5 Pro to watch my boxsets. So it technically still has a point in my house.

What he's saying isn't wrong but it's only a valid point of view for those who were not jumping up and down posting "just get an xbox" memes with Blade and Indiana jones images. It's also annoying that MS has tried to forcefully redefine the meaning of the word "xbox" rather than use the more appropriate "Gamepass" or MS brand for games on any device. It seems to make those who invested in xbox the console upset and that's what he's seeing in the media and not "xbox tax".
