Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
What an amazing fucking show, from start to finish.
Finale was amazing.
I really don’t care Batman didn’t show up. Don’t really find it hard to believe there may be a reason. And the show ends like 24 hours after that bomb went off that’s probably the only event that would fully interest Batman anyways. Even Sofia’s family getting merc’d, why would he care?
Do you guys think there was anything was anything sexual in Ozwald's love for his mother? Considering what he did with Eve in the end?

It was pretty good, but don't think it was as great as some of you guys are going on about. I would give it a 8/10.
If they were smart, they would just end the show there...one and done. Go out on a high note, but you know fuckin' hollywood...as long as it's successful, they'll keep trying to milk the shit out of it till they run it in to the ground.
Everything is on the table. But at the end of the day, we feel like there are more stories to tell in this world. So me and Lauren and [producer Dylan Clark] and Colin are talking and we’re trying to figure out whatever it is, it has to dig into this in a way that feels earned the way this was. I wasn’t ever interested in starting this thing to go, “We just want to do stuff with the Penguin.” What can we do that feels fresh?

Well Pemguin having the DA or whatever on his side will probably factor into everything. Perhaps Penguin is threatened by Batman or beat up or something and they go witn it he “Batman is now wanted by the cops” kinda storyline.I've been critical of the lack of explanation for Batman's absence... but the ending was so damned perfect (and frankly what I was expecting and hoping for) that I can quite happily let it slide. I would still have liked a clear nod to why he didn't get involved (a tv report stating that The Batman has been seen all over the city dealing with the fallout from the flooding, for instance) but the assumption of that will have to do.
The show HAD to end with Oz thinking he's on top of the world, but with everyone else knowing that he's absolutely fucking NOT.
We'll now go into the movie with everybody wanting to see Bats absolutely pummel that fat piece of shit.

Said this earlier in the thread but Cristin Milioti elevated the show to another level, making it the best live-action comic book show I've seen. Leagues above MCU and CW crap.
Colin Farrell was great as well, of course... but Milioti was just an amazing Sofia Falcone. 10/10 performance
Yeah I’m not a big fan of “hero is now wanted by the cops” it’s a bit overdone. If they are going to do Court Of Owls, Penguin could and would act as a real spoiler to their plans. Reeves gives the impression that the entire saga is going to be about who really controls Gotham, and having multiple factors at play would work very well. I kinda hope they don't do Batman wanted by the cops again, as that was pretty well covered in Dark Knight Rises. I'm most interested in seeing how he comes up against corruption and deals with it, and how many layers of it he has to peel back over the course of the three films.
Right? There were hints along the way that they kind of wanted you to sympathize with Penguin, but by the end you know he's just an irredeemable bastard. Really hope we see him get his comeuppance in the next movie.Goddamn I can’t wait when Batman beats the absolute shit from Penguin. I love this show.

I hope Bruce Wayne eventually does the beatdown on him especially for Victor murder. Guy is a pure Sociopath. I'm glad they are going into how each of the Batman Villains represent a mental disorder
To use wrestling parlance, this series has done an amazing job of putting the heel over, which means it's going to be even sweeter when the babyface fucks him into next week.
I genuinely think this show has added a good hundred million dollars plus to the profits of The Batman Part 2. It's made a whole lot of people far more excited for the second movie.
My only disappointment is we're not getting The Batman II anytime soon
I haven't seen it yet, but the praise the show is getting here is really making me hyped up for Batman Part 2. I'm 100% going to start it this week
Also, is this screen shot from the show real? If so, it's really on the nose on where Part 2 is heading. Not that I mind, because I'm a massive fan of Snyder's New 52 Batman run.
It's in a court house with drapes shaped like owls
Yep. It's real. Although it feels like something that could very easily be just a coincidence.
However, I think The Court Of Owls fits perfectly into Reeves's vision for an epic crime saga that explores the roots of corruption in Gotham, so I'm more than up for seeing Talon at some point.
Replacing Colin with Lizzo.Absolutely great show and puts Marvel shows to shame. I can't wait for season 2 that's rumoured to be a musical.
Couldn’t have had a better ending. I knew it had to be coming, but it still hit so fucking well when it did.
It’s not just a call, it’s a warning…
They’d be fucking dumb as shit to try any other Batman universe than this one. This show has elevated the whole damn thing far above anything else being made right now in comic movies and TV.

Im down for more comic style swashbuckling batman.
Hes a character that can historicslly do both. I'll happily enjoy both.
As a hyper realistic ultra gritty version tho this is about as good as it gets.
I don't think the audience is. We've had years of superhero movies. A comic style Batman isn't going to go down all that well with an audience that's getting pretty tired of superhero movies (other than the ones that take the piss out of the entire genre like D&W). It's a mistake for WB to jeopardise what they've got with Reeves's Batman by introducing yet another Batman into the mix - especially one part of yet another stupid 'shared cinematic universe'.
I will never not be of the opinion that WB should double down on creating separate, unique universes for each of their characters - in the exact way Reeves has done here. The Penguin seems universally loved - largely because it as able to exist as its own entity. WB failed to capitalise on and copy the hugely successful formula they had with The Dark Knight movies. They'd be idiots to repeat the same mistake now - but they will, because greed.
We've had grim and gritty cbms before too. The dark knight trilogy set up dcs entire direction for the nest 15 years. The problem was Snyder is no Nolan and the tone didn't fit every character. Execution is always more important. And frankly I dint think audiences are ever going to completely tire of CBMs. We've been getting them for 30 years now pretty steadily and they can still turn a profit if they don't cost 300 million dollars to make.
Were definitely past the peak of the 2010s. But the genre still captivates audience attention. I suppose this superman film will determine what happens, but you simply can't do a superman like this Reeves stuff. Just doesn't work on a fundamental level

How much time actually passed from episode 1 to 8?
Batman probably too busy with other things, and still a newbie, and most of the stuff happened privately. Like other than the bomb, everything else was like "oh some mobsters killed some other mobsters"
