I don't blame you and I can go on and on about this topic. There are mucisicans and music critics on youtube where fans asked them to analyze the differences and they point out how remake tracks sound good but the OST orchestras and amount of instruments are overpowering the central theme of the song, which should be the main thing that stands heads and shoulders above everything else.

Some people here will never understand and that's fine, but it's little stuff like this that bugs me with such a great game that FF7R is. A perfect example is the Jenova track from FF7. They got it right, twice.

Even with the added guitar on the second one (which was purposefully done), you can still hear and feel the notes of the central theme of Jenova loud and clear, just tweaked to give you a slightly different feeling with that guitar (since AC is a sequel). But the key here is that the other instruments are not fighting the guitar to overpower it and they all get their turn to shine. Now let's listen to the remake's version:

Timestamped. There is technically nothing wrong with this track, but it feels like I've been transported from FF7 to a Bloodborne-like game. Too many instruments, too many vocals, too many added riffs and tweaks, and it feels like they're all clashing, etc. It's grandiose in nature but it feels like it's trying too hard to outdo the original Jenova by overpowering you with noise. This is my only worry with the FFX remake.

Well said. Too busy and grandiose, and not in a Mozart or John Williams kind of way where it all somehow blends together, but cluttered to the point of diluting the original distillation to oblivion

No I'm sick of Remakes and remasters, Let's have new entries and IPs.

I'd be down for FF9 getting the SO2 kind of remake though!!!!

FFX is my favorite. FF7R trilogy needs to be a 9/10 trilogy though, so I'm fine with waiting an extra 10ish years.

Imagine the graphics and water effects by that time.

Only for her.

Btw... Wakka is the loser of the game...

The best character is Auron

X is one of my least favorite gameplay wise. The story is ok in Japanese but I do like the overall aesthetic and music. Any gameplay changes could only help in my opinion. I feel the same way about 8.

If Square-Enix remakes Final Fantasy X, they will almost certainly do away with the turn-based battle system. So no, don't remake the game. You morons already screwed up Final Fantasy VII. Stop ruining the things that I love.

After playing 7,8,9 and then 10 I really didn't like 10 so unless they change it alot I have no interest in it. Was just to linear for me I know the others wasn't really that open but the sense of scale was good.

Depending on what your priority is, there's not really a point to remaking it.

As some have pointed out, the gameplay will not be the same.
It will be a updated version of what 7R was going for, and maybe something else. If you enjoyed that, then this is a non-issue.

Graphically, art direction, and character/monster models, the original is not dated in the slightest, and there is a remaster out there already. For 10-2 as well.
So from that perspective, I don't really know what anyone would want out of a Remake.

Story, writing and characters, that side I can see someone being curious about, and maybe a Remake handling the games themes in a more thoughtful way.
The game is very "anime", and the way it handles its themes isn't subtle at all.

One of the reasons I had no contentions with FF 7 being Remade, is because it's arguably dated.
And for a game that has such an important message and engaging cast of characters, having that die on the PS1, would have been upsetting.

So regardless of how FF 7R handled the characters, the point of making it more digestible for a newer audience, was achieved.

I don't really see this being an issue with FF 10.
Again, I fail to see what is so dated about 10. Besides the handling of its themes being very "anime".
And mind you, I have no nostalgia for that game whatsoever.

But anyway, I hope you get one though! I just don't understand it myself.

Only if it's turn-based, but they'd probably ruin that so that modern ADHD zoomers can play it so no thanks

No thanks. The game looks good and and plays as well as it is. FFVIII and IX however.. I'd be down with.

Even better.. SE goes onto making smaller and more frequent (new) FF entries that don't take 5+ years to produce.

Only want remakes of ps1 and backwards games. TheHD remasters were good enough at this time for FFX+ games.

In fact, FF3 and FF4 are already checked off on my remake box as those 3D remakes were fantastic. They need to quit being fucking lazy and port those at 4K on PS5 is what they need to do.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
I don't think it needs it, but I'm all up for one if they do.
But do FFVIII first then IX.

FFX has already been remastered to look modern. It doesn’t need any more updates for now.
I’d far rather have something that could meaningfully benefit like ff6, ff tactics, or ff9.
This. It certainly does not need a remake. Maybe in another 10 years. For now, SE is missing FF5 remake on the next Nintendo console followed by FFVI sometime next gen.

I dunno about remake, but Spurs and that world’s mythos are worth revisiting. This time with more Charlie’s Angels vibes…

Ignoring the gnorant FF6 and CT disrespect around here (kidding, I don't care what y'all think), I think I'm on the right side of not wanting an FFX remake.

So, play the original. We don’t need a remake is the point, especially of X
Where exactly? On ancient, discontinued and soon to be 25yrs old hardware?

And I know emulation exists, but that really shouldn't be the excuse for Square Enix to not want to pursue a proper re-release of Final Fantasy X.

Maybe they‘d manage to make the cutscenes skippable this time.

It’d be quite a feat to get more filler in considering the game already has the Sphere Grid, the Zoolab, Chocobo races, Aeon leveling, the 200 lightning bolts minigame, and fucking Blitzball.

I’d be happy if I could change Tidus’s and Lulu’s clothes, and Seymour’s hair. It’s impossible to take the game seriously with those designs being shoved in your face all the time.

Game is great. Finished recently. Aside from the last part. That was bullshit. If they will remake it then they have to change that.

Oh, you don't have to tell me about it: currently as I'm typing this on my second monitor, I'm moving a freshly manufactured PSP Eboot of PS1's Tail Concerto from my PC hard drive onto the SD memory of a jailbroken PS Vita.

Yet my point still stands in that there should be the option to legally experience these old games, if not through quality remasters and remakes, at least in their original form on modern platforms.

For sure, next in line is likely FF6 remake though, then 9 and 10. Hopefully remake with multiple branches of story. SE has so little success with new mainline FF sequels that they will focus on remakes with some new stories and new characters. It's hard for SE to ever top the talent that made those 90s and ffx in terms of character, lore, story and music. SE should do remake for chrono trigger, parasite eve, etc. as well, those are the best days of square and it's almost impossible for SE to top those with new IPs.

If we're presuming anyone "needs" to remake anything, the older games in the series are far better candidates than 10.

I'd be much more interested in seeing a remake of 4 or 5... or certainly 6 or 9, which are two of the very best in the series IMO. Think all those games are more in need of of a remake/update than 10, and 6 & 9 are much better games for my money.

Or you can play the remaster on ps5. I know you say it’s not good, but I had no issues with it and it’s good enough to get the X fix if you need it. Not worth the time or resources for it to happen from a business sense.

Literally the only thing that’s worse is the faces. Everything else is an upgrade, including the qol improvements like the speed boosts.

Absolutely. 9 is the most deserving of any of them imo.

FF5 is a masterpiece that is criminally ignored because it didn't come to the states until later its one of if not the best FF game and so many people haven't played it

They can just proceed with Final Fantasy X-3. It allows them to try a more modern battle system while continuing to use the world of Spira. Like others are saying, Final Fantasy X aged very well for its time due its excellent execution on presentation, that usually the main driver for remakes to be greenlit.

Remake an older sprite game with the new 'remake' polish..............FF6 or FF9 would be great.
Remaking another Final Fantasy would be the final nail in the coffin of SE's creative output. Make something new with a compelling world and cast. Hire actual writers instead of company higher ups. Dramatically rethink the art direction. Go all in on a single person's visionary concept and do not meddle for marketing or demographic reasons.
