Reliable Leaker Leaks Nintendo Switch 2 Potential Price and Launch Date

I like how every one of these premature leakers GUARANTEED that the Switch announcement would be this month, and now that the window is closing (basically just two days left, because there's no way Nintendo would announce the console next week, with TGS going on), they're immediately shifting to "acktchully guys, it's NEXT month 🤓🧠"

Who knows, does HDMI cable let you charge a device?

What if you can directly connect Switch 2 to TV (without a dock station) and use it like a Wii U gamepad?

Nintendo Switch 2 leaker just tipped price and launch date

A reliable laker who correctly predicted the price of PS Pro has suggested that Nintendo Switch 2 will launch at a base MSRP of $400.

Switch 2 leak rumor

Nintendo is expected to officially announce its upcoming console with new game bundles in October 2024, as per rumors. The new console according to another leaker is expected to feature AI integration (personalized game recommendations etc.) and dual screens (hmm, interesting! return of the DS and 3DS feature). Moreover, as per
some court documents revealed in a MS-Activision trial the console will be as powerful as a PS4 (a real deal if true! I hope we will get adult games as well).
I keep seeing this pop up. It’s been posted here before, by the way. But it says nothing about a release date, so why does that keep being mentioned? Are we just really bad at proofreading?

And a dual screen Switch, as in two 6.5 inch screens? Come on, that’s not happening.

And it’s just repeating the Xbox/Activision court case docs again, there’s not anything new there. That info’s 2+ years old.

On the scale of rumors, this has to be like one of the worst attempts, ever. 😂

If the dual screen is like a Wii U, where the single screen tablet can interact with the TV, it will do well!

If it is like a 3ds or DS, I DO NOT foresee it doing as well.

Let’s see what happens when they finally show it. This is what I suspect the crowd reaction will be as well.

How would it connect to a TV, then? A 10-12 foot HDMI cord? That sounds incredibly cumbersome. No, HDMI is purely audio/video it does not charge. The standard now is USB-C, same as what Nintendo (smartly) went with in 2017.

I suspect there will be a base model at $400 (with shit storage) and then the *real* version at $500 with an actual usable amount of storage (like steam deck).

Nintendo are not immune to the cost of inputs in the tech industry, they will not launch anything cutting edge at $400.
MicroSDs are so cheap and fast now, it honestly doesn’t really even matter, anyway.

We must be desperate for leaks at this point. The duel screen rumor is coming from a random website that feels full of "believe me bro" energy

Also, might I add. I am 100% confident that the ps6 and NeXbox are handheld. They will not be advancing the Xbox series X or Ps5 pro tech for next gen.

I will also add, I feel like something is happening with the public at large. I think people acrid the world are deeply angry at inflation and the state of the world.

I am not sure how well these new consoles will hit. The new iPhone preorders are not good and Apple is the most bullet proof of these companies usually.

It like we are in for a reckoning and a shift in priorities.

Not for nothing, in starting to believe in this anti tech movement that is cropping up. It will be interesting to see if it gains traction

The problem with dual screen where when it's docked you end up with the extra screen on your hands: this "DS for your TV" idea was already tried. It was called WiiU, and Nintendo publicly admitted in the end that people don't wan't to keep looking up and down between their hands and the TV. They blew a 5 year gen JUST to learn this nugget so this seems almost impossible to me.

It was either Miyamoto or someone else high rank who said this a little after Starfox came out.

So completely remove the entire "switch" aspect that was such a huge success? If you want both a portable and a home console you'll need to buy both? That sounds extremely stupid.
I can't think of any other reason they would have two SKU's

They'll have a portal option, and a non portal option, for people that don't care about playing on the toilet

They aren't going to launch with a "Switch 2" and a "Switch 2 Pro"

It ain't gonna be dual screen, costs too much money when the switch showed them one is plenty.

I'd be more inclined to believe that there is a mistranslation somewhere and instead it was two different screens to pick from, ie: LCD and OLED.

Yeah how would that even work docked?
Yeah, sounds like a messy situation if devs are supposed to make games that utilize a dual screen in handheld as well as a single screen in docked mode.

I personally think going any route that vastly differentiates the experience between handheld and docked mode would be a very big mistake.

The different SKU could easily be related to storage. There might be a 256GB and a 512GB one. They did something similar with the WII U.

They won't make two different devices to support, they have failed so many times at it. They'll play it supersafe now they found their market segment.

Nintendos track record for generations has been releasing over priced, lose no money on manufacturing, underpowered, gimmicky, cheap feeling hardware that seems to only be built for their next Zelda game, then they kinda work backwards. Not that they release much of their own games these days, usually ports / remasters / remakes. Third-party support has always been pretty dire.

Yeah, expect them to make 2 or 3 games that take advantage of the hardware, for better or blurry, no AA slow loading worse, but it's not going to be anything outside of their comfort zone. Wait.... Did I see an ethernet port in the leak? My God, they are evolving to 2001.
Would be interesting to see Nintendo make a game on hardware not donated by a burnt out library.

Yeah, but in that case it will be one pure portable and one hybrid, like they have with the current Switch. Not a portable and a home console. Then it's not a Switch at all anymore.

I think it’s disappointing and too safe, there’s no gimmicks just a larger more powerful sequel

Nintendo should call this thing Nintendo 6witch and have 6 different screens for multiplayer since they still won't have a good online system. Each screen is a cube that connects and you can share with friends to eliminate screen sharing. You can also play 6 games at once. The Joy Cons are even more poorly made with drift almost 2 months after use.

$699.48

they're just doing what sony and microsoft have done. nothing wrong with it. switch is successful and popular. they'd be stupid to try anything different.
Switch has insane staying power, looking at local shops today, the price hasn't really changed and demand is still there after all this time.

They can only make small critical changes and beef up the hardware and they won't skip a damn beat. Bing Bing Wahoo machine is good.

Wonder if they'll move to use hall effect sticks because of the drifting issues?

The most fascinating thing to me is people here "hoping" for an OLED screen like its a marvelous thing to get in 2025!

Nintendo has conditioned these poor souls to a very low standard 🤣
PlayStation portal has regular LCD. It’s not even a year old.

Steam Deck is still offered with LCD.

So, yeah, OLED is a still premium feature, unfortunately.

Another thing to remember is they may not be calling it the "Switch 2", it could very well be called something completely different

I will quote my post from this thread:

I kinda disagree with you a little bit on this. Oled shouldn't be mandatory at all, whats being mandatory is supplying Switch 2 with a "high quality" LCD or LED or OLED or whatever .. it has to be good, not the trash they put in the early model Switch.

PsPortal btw has a fantastic LCD screen. I wouldn't mind at all Switch 2 going that route

You can't be serious. The PS6 would have to be considerably less powerful than the PS5 for that to be realistic.

*IF* true, I'm praying to the Nintendo Gods that they have an Switch 2 OLED "Pro" model and then a cheaper Switch 2 LCD Standard model
