Didnt work this morning when I tried

TLDR (sorry for being snarky)

$30 gives you 300 points in the shop
$60 gives you 600 points and some cosmetics
$100 gives you 1000 points and some cosmetics

These are all standard prices in the shop, think of the early access as free.

Points are mainly used on stash tabs, but some people use them for cosmetics. I highly recommend stash tabs, but wait for PoE2 as they may have specialized stash tabs that aren't available in PoE1.

Unless it's different now, or PoE2 is different. You'll want Premium stash tabs, as those are the only ones that you can use to list items on trade sites.

Did they simplify some of the mechanics or did they just complicate things more?
The unnecessarily complicated systems were a huge turn-off for 1.0.

It's simplified, but not necessarily shallower gameplay. They are emphasizing onboarding new and casual players more readily and getting them comfortable enough with the game so that they stay engaged. If anything, the gameplay itself is more dynamic, and will require lots of thinking and strategy for optimal DPS.

Hey everyone! If you’ve played the game, I’m curious about what class you’d recommend for me. I’m thinking of playing as a mage, specifically fire and lightning, but I’d also love to try melee. I know this allows for hybrid builds, but I’m more interested in a shield mage type. Any suggestions?

Bought the base key. Cosmetics will be cool later but at launch I want to see all of the base equipment. Plus if they transfer over, I'll already have some cosmetics and stash tabs will be waiting.

The game looks insane. A lot better than D4 but I will play both still. Finally getting the armory in D4 which is a huge win.

Well, any class can use any skill if it works like PoE 1(it does, just checked) but I am pretty sure only certain classes can use certain weapons, at least they haven't shown a Witch with a shield yet) and I saw a part in the presentation where you can make certain skill trigger other skills as long as you have the stat requirement. I suggest Warrior since he can use a shield and look for synergies that allow magic spells triggers.

It took a while for me to click with POE1. I really enjoyed it.

Beyond excited for 2. Got my early access and waiting for release

The main thing your class determines is your ascendancy sub-class.

Does anyone know if the loot will be instanced in Multiplayer so that everyone gets his own loot and not shared?

Game looks awesome. But if I just want to play to finish the mission and not going crazy into upgrades, can I do it with $0 spent on whatever micro transaction it has to offer?

I'm still impressed by the stream they did. It was probably one of the best presentations of the game in the last few years, the stream lasted over an hour, and they just kept the hype going throughout the whole time. Really looking forward to the beta test...

I played the PS5 version at Pax West a little bit ago. It is like night and day compared to the crappy console port of Path of Exile 1. Every aspect of the game from graphics, fps, gameplay, bosses, etc. felt amazing and the game is actually quite challenging. It also has crossplay and couch co-op.

This game is going to be huge. I expect 1 million+ concurrent players during the 2025 launch on Steam alone and the game is also going to be massive on console due to it being free to play.

curious if an arpg can really function without ending up looking like this:

This can still be survived, I am more interested in the optimization issue. Especially after the announcement that Delirium will be available in beta right away. When this league came out in POE1, regardless of what PC you had and what was in it, the video card simply turned on all the fans and flew out the window :messenger_grinning_squinting:

Everything I've seen about this game just looks so fucking insanely good and puts Diablo 4 to shame.

I bought a supporter pack and can't wait to jump in. Mercenary looks fun as hell with the different ammo type but I'm also digging the Warrior and Sorcerer.. so.. decisions decisions

Dont forget:

W.hen you buy thevearly access for 30$, you also get mtx coins that worth as much. So its like buying mtx currecy but you also get early access.
Don't forget:

One armor set in POE costs $60, every non paid armor in the game is garbage looking and makes you look like a peasant completely defeating the purpose of loot in an ARPG.

Some more, some less. We also dont know how normal sets look in poe2.

In any case, Don't Forget™️ - you should buy stash tabs before anything.

Game looks awesome. But if I just want to play to finish the mission and not going crazy into upgrades, can I do it with $0 spent on whatever micro transaction it has to offer?

Mtx has no bearing on the game. Stash tabs are a different story, but if you plan on paying the 30$ for early access - you'll have enough mtx points to spend on several tab.

Question, is there a main story with dialogues, cutscenes and rich story? Or its just mostly gameplay and thats it?

The unnecessarily complicated systems were a huge turn-off for 1.0.
Seems like it is similarly advanced but they have removed the issues where new players could easily brick their builds (or make them extremely frustrating to play/advance) if not following a build guide. Heck, even if following a build guide there are certain assumptions that are not at all obvious to new players (such as sockets are all that matter if starting a new run...just ignore that shiny rare drop 95% of the time).

I am super pumped for this. Looks like I qualify for a 'free' key (easily lol) but that doesn't seem to be indicated on my account page. Anyone else with over $480 lifetime get the message "Your account does not have access..." msg? Or I'm guessing this is normal?

There's a main story with dialogues, interesting lore but not much cutscenes in POE1. Each Act has quests with talking NPCs, books to read etc. It's good enough but you'll still slaughter hundreds of monsters 98% of the time. POE2 might be slightly different though, I don't know.

Im looking forward to trying the game on PS5, but It's a bummer that the microtransactions aren't shared between PC and PS5... I will need to spend about 100$ to buy the stash tabs again

Bought a supporter pack on steam but also planning on playing on my PS5 coop, can I seamlessly switch between the two or?

You can look cool while I wear this and destroy:
Oh but you don't. Tell us how much you've spent totally.

I'm trying to shed some light in one of the worst monetization systems around so people know what they're getting into.

The only point of ARPGs is loot that makes you stronger and above that makes you look cool.

You will be able to progress on both platforms if you link the accounts, characters and challenge rewards are shared, but for example, if you bought Currency stash tab on PC, then you would need to buy it again on PS5 to access it.

Thankfully there are wealthy whales that buy that stuff so the rest of us get free content. The purpose of loot in an RPG is to help create the build, not to look pretty. I never even noticed the loot in Diablo outside of the character screen lol, everything is so tiny what difference does it make

POE1 the story may have been ok but presented in the most terrible way possible, and even the devs agree to that. They are making storytelling a priority for POE2 so you at least know WTF is going on as you move between acts.

POE2 addresses my main complains with 1, slower gameplay, less visual clutter, much more skill based and less spammy, no more gear gem sockets/color stuff. My only concern is I was not a fan of the random season bloat that POE1 had which they've moved to POE2 as well. I didn't think any of those were particularly well executed or connected in a meaningful way.

Either way I expected POE2 to put Diablo to shame (not hard to be honest), and probably a bunch better than last epoch which was the last ARPG to hold my attention for a good 200 hours.

If I buy the early access version on PS5, will I be able to crossplay with my PC friends?

I haven't played an ARPG like this since Diablo 3. Looking for casual play though, maybe Path of Exile is too hardcore/endless for me.
