I doubt Kirby is selling better than expectations, but according to retailers expectations. You only need to take a look at the shipment to realize that retailers were expecting a good first and second week.

Probably is more accurated to say that it's selling better than some gaf members expectations that were based on Comg pre-orders, ignoring that Kirby sells well during holidays and pre-orders aren't that important for this type of game.

Don't talk with me, i predicted 160K First week on The prediction legue. :p

As of the end of April, Delta-Arts has shut down. The studio was founded in 2005 and was most well known for developing the Medarot/Medabots RPGs on the DS/3DS. Their last release was seemingly Medarot 9, which shipped on 3DS last December.

Before the vultures cackle at Girls Mission, they had no direct involvement with that game. Its sales weren't all that off from DA's last mainline entry anyway.

Time for the Noise-developed Medabots game the world deserves!

I mean Rocket worked with Noise on that Kumamon game for 3DS, so they have done work with each other.

Shame about DA, but honestly their stuff never looked that good IMO. Maybe it was the lack of a decent budget and/or time.

I think the only Delta-Arts game ever released in the west was Tenkai Knights on 3DS.

And Dual and GM I'm sure were by Jupiter. Jupiter seems to be fine with their Picross games doing well on the eShop I think.

If Imagineer/Rocket intended on making more Medarot RPGs, I don't think they would've let DA shut down. They owned 39% of the studio.

I'm not sure who developed Girls Mission, actually. Jupiter doesn't list it on their site and they weren't credited in the opening like they were in Dual.

Don't think it will happen, but Kimishima should start thinking about revising Wii U shipments in Japan to meet the demand, ~300k for the entire fiscal year it's really a joke. Those Splatoon amiibo gonna blow the whole country, if you ask me.

I was only half-serious with my comment here.

I'm not sure what their 800k shipment means, it's certainly curious to say the least. Well, it's not like it's an absolute target (unless they don't mind a complete sell-out several months before the NX platform is out), but still.

A very good second week for Kirby should be expected since the word of mouth has been pretty good so far, most people say that is much better than Triple Deluxe.

Looks like first week was pretty good to begin with, so that's definitely good news. Hopefully Planet Robobot won't lag too far behind Triple Deluxe.

Personally I think the 800k shipment target is simply down to what production facilities they have left. How long did it take them to get through the consoles produced at launch.

What went wrong here? Is very unusual for a hardcore or non casual-fad franchise to collapse that hard in such a short span of time.

I know F-Zero Maximum Velocity sales are inflated for being a launch title but even so.

I know hiska-kun mentioned it on the first page, but data for Week 17 will be released on Friday (Golden Week until then). Unfortunately, neither Famitsu or 4Gamer.net say when exactly, so no idea if at usual time (10PM JST), or before.

Ah damn, must have missed it then. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully Famitsu is at the same time.

I guess we're getting Top 30 instead of Top 20 + Top 50.

Leaks are out.

As usual, got no idea where or what I'm supposed to look at.

First one is most definitely Kirby. 1997/11 > 199 711 units sold?

Kirby Triple Deluxe sold 225.448 in January, so doen't look farfetched (but seems a bit high for PR).

No, I'm pretty sure isn't what you're saying.lol

The first one is a book titled: "She did it! She did it! Little Yuu is 2 years old!"

Yuu is probably => U => Wii U
Meaning that Wii U sold or 2 digits, or 2,000 or 20,000, or the double than the previous week

Edit: I think kirby is 300,000 / 2 (the last two hints)

First Puzzle:
Wii U has risen from its own ashes like a Phoenix

Second Puzzle:
Jikkyou Powerful Baseball 2016 sold 120k (combined)

Third Puzzle:
Kirby sold 300k

Still, as mao2 said, there's a *2 and /2 hidden. I'm inclined to think that Kirby is 300k/2, so 150k.
Pawapro 120*2??

It looks Wii U got bigger shipments for Golden Week.

*2 can't refer to Pawapuro, 240k is too high, he probably plays with Kirby numbers.

No, I'm pretty sure isn't what you're saying.lol

Please never lock me in a room with a puzzle to solve to get out, or I'll die in there, ha ha.

20k for Wii U would be surprising, but so would be 2k. Then again, finally significant stock + GW start should have a positive impact.

Still, there's the *2 & /2 thing (this week he is playing with 2?), so it might also mean that Wii U sold the double (*2) than its previous week. Not exactly 20k.

Always this ambiguous.

So about 10k for Wii U, 150k for Kirby? Sounds about right. 300k for Kirby would be really impressive.

Famitsu Top 30 for March 2016 (29/02 - 27/03)

Updated my document, and since people often like fancy graphics

As stated before it also only gives a rough idea, most titles have special circumstances depending on availability, platform, price, genre etc. and platforms based on release schedule, number of titles charting
It's really only what is written in the title, average monthly digital ratio based on the 30 top sellers,

You calculate digital ratio as percentage of retail, not total sales. It's not wrong but it's digital/retail ratio and not digital/sales.

heh seems my browser suddenly block the amazon jp product thing the leaker usually use. no wonder i cannot see those this time
No new chart today?

golden week. pretty sure it has been mentioned multiple times in this thread, and at least once in this page

[SFC] F-Zero _Retail/Nintendo Power_ <RCE> (Nintendo) {1990.11.21} (¥7.000) - * / 900.000
[N64] F-Zero X <RCE> (Nintendo) {1998.07.14} (¥5.800) - 56.457 / 97.684
[N64] F-Zero X Expansion Kit |64DD| <RCE> (Nintendo) {2000.04.21} (¥2.200) - * / *
[GBA] F-Zero Maximum Velocity <RCE> (Nintendo) {2001.03.21} (¥4.800) - 116.116 / 334.142
[GCN] F-Zero GX <RCE> (Nintendo) {2003.07.25} (¥5.800) - 45.527 / 100.981
[GBA] F-Zero Falcon Legend <RCE> (Nintendo) {2003.11.28} (¥4.800) - 9.056 / 9.056
[GBA] F-Zero Climax <RCE> (Nintendo) {2004.10.21} (¥4.570) - 5.049 / 5.049

i knew Climax had bombed horribly but i had no idea GPL had bombed just as bad.

it makes it even more insane for Nintendo to have even greenlighted Climax on GBA. they should have really waited more time and do the game on DS with some 3D graphics and stuff. at least on DS it would have had a much better chance.

and there's still people who are on denial that the whole F-Zero anime thing was what destroyed the series. the series was barely recouping costs with the regular entries and they go and completely annihilate everything with these massive bombs. it's so painful that this is how F-Zero met its end.

the sales also prove that F-Zero only thrived as a launch game. X and GX were like halfway into their respective gens and their sales are much lower than the original and MV, which were launch games. no need to explain what happens when you do a late gen F-Zero game.

that's why i knew there was not going to be an F-Zero game this gen. it wasn't announced at the only window it had a chance. same with NX. if we don't see an F-Zero game announced among the launch window games, it's safe to say the series is never returning (at least until the gen after NX).

Yes I didn't word it properly.

Since most of the time we know the retail sales first and learn the digital much later I thought it was interesting and more simple to think about it this way

"Ok software X sold 300k and usually the extra digital sales for this kind of game is 15% so I can assume it probably sold around 40-50k digitally"

This is actually Mysterious Dungeon: Torneko's Big Adventure

Indeed, Shiren was the sequel to Torneko before they become their own series.

[SFC] Torneko Adventures: Mystery Dungeon _Retail/Nintendo Power_ <RPG> (Chunsoft) {1993.09.19} (¥9.600)
[SFC] Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer _Retail/Nintendo Power_ <RPG> (Chunsoft) {1995.12.01} (¥11.800)
