Wow PS5 Pro has some serious RT features now. Show me the trailer. A good sign of RDNA4 RT performance?

Then again a person that will buy a 4090 is not for sure to play games at 30fps..How many times do we have to drill it into you guys' heads? The inclusion of a new 30 fps mode does not take away your ability to play at 60fps. Furthermore, you can toggle different RT effects from the Fidelity Pro mode to obtain higher FPS.
Using this idiotic logic you and others subscribe to, even a 7800X3D and 4090 combo wouldn't suffice because there would be a vvirtually infinite number of higher graphical settings that would be only possible at 30fps (or 20fps, or 10fps, or 5 or 0.5....................) if the developers decided to push the technical envelope to/beyond the limit. And the same will apply for the 5090 (and 6090, and 7090, and 8090).
So please, for the love of God and everything holy:
Just in a general sense, does the 40fps play similar to 60fps when you got the whole setup with 120hz vrr?I didn't get the hype all that much either until I appreciated it in SM2.
With the Pro coming, I won't need to use 40fps hopefully and go 60.
I found it to be closer to 60fps compared to 30fps.Just in a general sense, does the 40fps play similar to 60fps when you got the whole setup with 120hz vrr?
Is the vrr and it being 120hz monitor make it feel same as 60fps? Or is it something you can definitely tell difference? I dont got vrr setup or any of that so curious.I found it to be closer to 60fps compared to 30fps.
Are you trolling at this point? Then again a person that will buy a 4090 is not for sure to play games at 30fps..
As I said is all about standards.. by your logic it would be perfectly acceptable if insomniac come out with a super quality mode at 15fps.. I’m sure there are people would not mind playing like that and it would even further future proof the game for ps6 and ps7 even..
Maybe you are one of those people I don’t know..
Your mindset reminds me of the time Xbox came with the series S.. lots of people praising that genius move by Microsoft to bring a turd to the market and how that would be great for gamers.. we all see now how that went…
For me bringing a Pro machine costing 800 € (no stand or hard drive) to the market and still have to relay on 30fps to show any meaningful improvements over the base machine apart of better upscaling is not enough and sure not worthy of my money..
Well the market will decide if this is what Pro potential customers want or not from Sony..
According to this logic, Ratchet & Clank 2016 got a remaster 6 months after launch, or heck, 3 months after the Japanese release, lmao.PS6 is not out yet and they make a remaster for Ratchet and Clank
It's to cover them legally.Does "targets X frames per second" mean stuttering? Or is that just there to cover them if it's hitting the target 99% of the time?
Really not into the PC like toggles.. i left PC gaming for simplicity. Having games optimised already to just play.
Otherwise, fairly excited to see it in action.
Mibu no ookami You believe its for future proofing the game? Yeah, guess we'll see.
However, RT penalizes performance so much that it seems like a very good idea to give the option of turning it off or on. Not everyone wants -40% Fps for better quality shadows.Really not into the PC like toggles.. i left PC gaming for simplicity. Having games optimised already to just play.

Consoles have always had a compromise. Not picking between graphicall settings is part of being console. Too many options and you might as well be playing on PC.However, RT penalizes performance so much that it seems like a very good idea to give the option of turning it off or on. Although 60 FPS on the new Performance Pro mode sounds like it is worth a replay for me, I am super curious what the 40 FPS mode (with DRS and VRR+LFC support) can bring and how good it would look. 40 FPS feels much better than 30 FPS on this old LG C9 and although motion resolution wise the performance mode is better, there is still some way to go in the PS5 Spider-man 2 game graphically speaking to sell NYC better. However, RT penalizes performance so much that it seems like a very good idea to give the option of turning it off or on. Im sure everybody plays games zoomed 1000% times. This is Apple level of BS.there are thousands of posts on this very topic complete with 1000% zoomed in screenshots in this forum
I’m not trolling.. just my honest opinion..Are you trolling at this point?
It's a genuine question and actually the most flattering explanation for these posts that I can think of. If you're not, please address these points in the message you ignored:
Not again with this..
This machine's main purpose is to give 60fps Modes good IQ and better visuals, devs simply also allowing for more options on top (while future-proofing) should make no literal difference for you.
Unless you somehow expect Sony to produce black magic making Nvidia look an amateur hour joke by releasing a $700 box able to deliver 4K + RT shadows, RT AO, RT Reflections at rock solid 60fps in current gen games, you should focus on those 60fps improvements instead.
You simply take advantage of the hardware the way you see fit, and it's just a simplified version of what happens even on 5K machines really because you can always make your games look better, always, in a way or another. Since forever you just settle on what strikes the balance between the visuals and performance you prefer.
I’m not trolling.. just my honest opinion..
of course you can always make your games look better lowering fps… but that is besides the point.. for me the Pro should be about give me base ps5 fidelity like settings at 60fps, better image quality and added effects hopefully RT effects at better resolution or new ones.. what we are seeing besides some outliers (F1 2024) what most games are doing is just upscaling trough PSSR Performance mode of base ps5 (not even quality modes) and leaving the graphic upgrades namely RT still for 30fps Pro modes.. this for me is completely off putting and I don’t care if they can or don’t.. if they put a pro machine in the market is better they make sure it will be up to the task.. if they can’t to that at the current price point would be better to charge more but ensure the machine will deliver in all areas.. right now what we are seeing is the pro falling in the same trap of the base machine and offering very little to be compelling to a lot of people that want a complete experience at 60fps..
I think that's the point he's making as Elden Ring outsold all of those studios games.wtf
elden ring runs like absolutely garbage, they been skipping tech class to smoke that creative shit
I like this analogy lol.Insomnia, Naughty Dog and Guerrilla Games are like the idiots sitting in the front of class and raising their arms every time the teacher says a word.
Fromsoft sat in the back, slept through all lectures, dropped out of school and still did better tan the rest of them.
Ok let’s see how it goes.. for me the baseline that we are creating with the Pro is not compelling enough.. but I still hope things can change.. for me is all about solid experiences at 60fps.. if they’ll fail to provide palpable upgrades namely RT ones at 60fps and left those for the “slideshow modes” at 30fps is a no go for me for sure..The Pro 60fps modes can look even better than the base PS5 quality modes based on early reports of multiple games.
That is the goal of the system, providing the image quality of PS5 quality modes at 60fps.
The rest are not traps, they are choices based on the simple fact that on every hardware, even a 4090, you can add graphical stuff until frame rate gets tanked.
If people want to play at 30-40fps and at that frame rate it is possible to introduce a whole new set of advanced ray tracing effects, that is a positive.
If you want more you can buy a 2500$ PC but even there you will be able to kill performance by activating even more advanced stuff like path tracing and so on.
So why are you posting in this thread?I prefer my Xbox - `PC - Ally X - Switch combo.

Lol….it is a discussion board, isn’t it, are there any rules that I cannot participate in a thread if I don’t own the specific platform? So why are you posting in this thread?
You're an admitted troll and have no interest in PlayStation. What are you here to discuss?Lol….it is a discussion board, isn’t it, are there any rules that I cannot participate in a thread if I don’t own the specific platform?
Wow, a powerful console that gives players the option to adjust graphical presets and performance to their liking.
This will ruin a special someone's day...
Hell yeah thanks. When my tv finally dies, gonna go all out for nice tv or monitorIt's closer to 60fps.

they released a patch a while back, you can do 120hz 40fps in native 4k or 120fps in 1440p I believe. The game looks stunning and could easily release today and still blow people away 8 yrs later..Meanwhile Naughty Dog's lazy ass cannot be bothered to add a mere 60 fps patch for vanilla Uncharted 4 8 years later. :[
Can you link me to the details? I am not talking about the Legacy of Thieves collection, just OG UC4.they released a patch a while back, you can do 120hz 40fps in native 4k or 120fps in 1440p I believe. The game looks stunning and could easily release today and still blow people away 8 yrs later..

yea it has to be the collection, they updated that and it runs like a dreamCan you link me to the details? I am not talking about the Legacy of Thieves collection, just OG UC4.
