Forza Motorsports early previews

Good on them for getting the raytracing in but I want to hear good things about the racing side too. Hopefully it's very good
How does Forza Motorsport (2023) feel to play? Well, it feels incredible. This is the most refined, responsive, and consistent handling I have ever experienced in a racing game, and it forced me to look at each car as if I was actually driving it, to not just master each vehicle but also to learn every corner and segment of the tracks. It's genuinely an awesome driving experience, which should be at the core of any racing game worth its salt.

OK mate, the video showing the vastly improved tyre physics is also nonsense is it? According to the trusted sim racer it's exactly the same as Forza 7 even though the video shows otherwise 🤣
how the handling feels

Turn10 has claimed overhauled physics before, the results were lukewarm despite what they changed under the hood. They can show all the videos if the world, it won't matter if the changes are not reflected in my hands.

Every single game they swear they've overhauled physics and driving and every game feels the same with the same issues. I'll reserve full judgmenent until I've played it myself, but it's not looking good in that department.
What’s interesting, is impressions from all other sources are praising the physics changes. Super GT is very much the outlier thus far.

Some of the intro footage (probably captured from the pc replaye mode). There is no 4k version sadly outisde the compressed 1080p video.

We can hope he's wrong, but I'd rather remain sceptical. The problem with niche genres like racing sims is your average gaming journalist can't really be trusted to know what they're talking about when it comes to physics or handling.
The weird thing is he played it with a controller while there where other people playing it with a proper wheels setup. That was confusing since he is a wheel only guy for his sim racing.

I’m not so much hoping he’s wrong, but recognizing he’s playing in a controller and literally the only one complaining about the physics at all. Despite his complaints, he also says the physics are good in the same video. So the worst impression is the physics feel like Forza and are good. Lastly, there are other with sim racing experience praising the physics…

Personally I plan on playing on a controller so that's of interest to me. One of my biggest issues with Forza has always been how it hanldes on a controller. That "Forza feel", all the latest entries have been quite bad on a controller with small to no improvement between games. They always overdo it with assists even if you turn everything off to the point where there is no connection between you and the car, you can never be precise and all cars feel similar and mute. I was really hoping this one would be better.

Here you can see the visuals are definitely a huge leap over 7 at least.

That side by side is massive!!

This is not Forza 7 PC release. PC release ultra graphics smokes this. yet I do not know what is the FM has been played at. is it PC or XSX ?

Edit: just to be clear, yes there is visual improvement. big one too. especially the environment. but the car details in this video is laughable. it can't be PC release on ultra.

Ok, they've completely overhauled the physics and yet kept the same garbage parameters if it makes you feel better.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, MS need to purchase Kunos.

No they fucking don't.

Why on earth would you want them ruining arguably the best sim racing dev out there?

They dont have to touch it. Just publish the games in place of 505 and in turn they get to use the physics/simulation for future Forza Titles. Win win.

How is it a win considering what they've allowed turn 10 to become?

Trees are improved over the last game, they used to look a bit too artificial and copy-pasted in some areas, now it looks like they are more varied and better shaded.
Lighting in places looks more like GT7 than FM7, and that's a good thing. Overall it seems a nice step up.

Some of John's shots look a bit washed out like he has the wrong RGB setting or something.

And those who tested it with a steering wheel speak highly of the improved physics and overall feel.

Very strange, indeed.

This is what I was hoping for and alluding to when people where writing off the game as maybe having 8/10 or 9/10 graphics instead of 10/10 graphics. The gameplay core has been revamped and the game needs to be taken in as a whole. I mean gt gets universals acclaim despite its graphics not being 10/10 so it seems fair to do the same here.

Doesn't look like a single sim racing content creator got to preview it, which tells me to keep my expectations in check. We already received the first blow with that multiplayer FPS lock.

Don't get me wrong, I REALLY hope it turns out to be good but I'd rather be delighted than disappointed.

Only SuperGT did and based on who else they decided to give codes out to it's like they gave it to him as a mistake (a lot of the guys they gave it to either play nothing other than Forza Horizon or don't play racing games/sims at all).

He said the next video he puts out will share his thoughts about how it plays on a wheel.

TeamVVV didn't get a code (which is odd because they usually do), Blackpanthaa didn't (again, odd because they usually give him one), and then really it's no surprise that the likes of Billy strange, eerieissss, Dan Suzuki, dave cam, jardier, etc etc didn't get one because they are all highly critical when it comes to racing sims.

It's not really helpful for customers when the likes of Klobrille are getting given access to this over racing content creators, but we are where we are.

People looking for realistic sim racing shouldn't be playing GT7 or Forza. There's always going to be that balance. Which is fine by me.

In June 2022 they promised RT on Series S. Again it seems like they make the bold promises first and then figure out if they can actually keep them, later.

Yes that's what I thought, they can just say 'oh we meant photo mode, did you think we meant gameplay!' Plausible deniability, shady sales tactics and Turn 10 go hand in hand, unfortunately.

Does everything have to either be a conspiracy or shady?
That tweet certainly didn’t promise RT during gameplay on the Series S, and I’m skeptical you truly expected RT at 60fps on your 4TF box.

Still baffled how it’s a ‘shady sales tactic’ when they reveal the visual and performance modes well before release, and with ample time to cancel preorders.

So the game has full damage system ,raytracing, full time of day on all tracks , full weather system on all tracks vastly improved phsics yet people are still bitching here ?
What exactly does gt7 has in all of the things above ?
It just needs to have a strict ranked play with driver ratings and whatnot and we are golden

Not really a game for me even though I remember really enjoying FM2 or was it 3. Graphically it's obviously a step forward but still distinctively FM where the visuals/lighting are more stylised than realistic unlike GT7.

Do we know if they improved replays yet from previous games? GT7 is the gold standard for having real TV-like replays, Forza's have always been more floaty and switches to the interior / bumper view too much for my liking.
There was some talk that they have improved this element as well. Sorry don’t have too many details.

Is this your first thread you reading on this forum. There is lots of shit posting in all exclusive game threads. Regardless is it Sony or MS game. Lots (not all) of negativity comes from users that don’t have Xbox or PC to play this game and have zero interest in Forza.

I wouldn't have expected it, until they said it was coming. Surprise surprise, it isn't, but now it's my fault for expecting it, okay then.

The physics are completely overhauled, whomever that poster is referring to they don't seem to have a clue what they're talking about. From windows central.

Sure. A professional SIM racer and real life racing driver doesn't know what he's talking about.

I'll discard his opinion and listen to someone who writes articles instead.

How about watching the tyre physics video which shows the huge improvement, or you know wait to play it yourself?

Based on SuperGT impressions, I can see why codes weren't sent to proper sim outlets and influencers but to Twi.. X Xbox Force, lol.

Game looks good (excluding some reused and tired car models), but almost every car game looks good right now. It's really a slight letdown that the physics still has this 'Forza Feel' of ovesteering.
