Easy to be first at the apex if you have no intention of getting round the corner and every intention of pushing the other guy off.

If Norris didn't pass him Verstapen should've got a penalty.

But surely you punish the first penalty that's due and that should make the other null an void anyway.

Exactly, Max taking that line at that speed even if Norris wasn't there was never making that corner. He did it deliberately knowing the repercussions would be less for him than Lando, same as crashing into Lewis.

I like Max, outstanding driver, but this is the sort of stuff that tarnishes legacies and leaves questions in your wake. Not that this is Max's fault but constantly driving across the bows of your opponents needs to be addressed by the FIA.

Lando missed a trick, shouldn't have accepted he'd pass Max when he pitted, should've continued to try and pass him until Max ultimately gets himself disqualified.

I was at Spa a few years ago. Hybrid era. Vettel was still driving for Ferrari then. They whizzed by on the Kemmel Straight. Didn't hear jack shit. It was so sad.

Closer is possible as you have delta time and if other is slower, or you create small time buffer were you go quick one moment slower the next.

So have to wait and see if Max was outside that required sector time
