Nope, it’s literally every score below like 80 that says the same thing. Without these blinders on for some people, the game would easily be scoring a 95 right now.Damn I thought this forum was overblowing reviewers holding it to some imaginary FF standard. But here we are, where "not my FF RPG heritage" is a review headline lol
Too much toxic masculinity “hero fable”
Yeah some of these review takes are opposite day
You forgot FFVII, I see. They actually did it. A brand new singleplayer Final Fantasy that doesn’t suck.
Reviews are great.
Polygon and Eurogamer dragging down the game predictably so metacritic will probably be under 90, a shame as the devs worked asses off with this and went flat out. FFXVI being held up to higher standards unfairly, whilst GOW Ragnarock gets a free pass for its medioctrity and gets dished out 10s galore.
It literally may be the dumbest criticism I've ever seen leveled at a game. "Too much world building" as criticism for an RPG is like saying "This game succeeds so well that it fails at failing".
Insert someone like ugly female Fable main character. RPG turns instantly into a 10/10.
IGN - 9
Gamespot - 9
Eurogamer - 3/5
FFXVI - 'Fantasy' |
And they've nuked the ENTIRE comment section that was politely asking them to remove this hit-piece and get better at reporting.
FFXVI - 'Fantasy'
They wrote this article because 2.5% of the people voted in favor of the boycott. 97.5% of the people voted that they are not gonna boycott.
Eurogamer Spain called it "The definition of Epic" and recommended it (they don't use a five-star ranking system).Eurogamer continues to be as embarrassing as ever.
I can't think of any FF games other than the MMOs where armor changes appearance.Dumb question, but does changing armor not change the character's appearance? Seems like he basically wears the same thing (depending on his age?) in the footage I've seen
lol people just wanna see something theyre into do well. This is like saying "I dont understand why fans of this sports team want said sports team to win"I don't understand why so much obsession with the Metacritic score, it's as if 89 to 90 were something distant, from another world. The score seems more important than the release of the game itself. They are different opinions, there will always be some dissonance.
The important thing here is that, for the most part, the game is fantastic and I can't wait to play it.
What a surprise! Sony exclusive and EG, nothing is more consistent.
15 let u change ur outfit, but is not related to ur armorI can't think of any FF games other than the MMOs where armor changes appearance.
Yeah, the best way would be to just not even give them a click.Eurogamer is on its way out and trying to be anti-consensus to drive clicks.
honestly he's not wrongI was with you until you wrote this shit. WTF?!?
I can't think of any FF games other than the MMOs where armor changes appearance.
Yeah you're right now that I think about it but I guess it's something I've grown to really appreciateI can't think of any FF games other than the MMOs where armor changes appearance.
30 years of reminding people that each numbered title essentially acts like a new IP, but it’s sadly pretty clear a lot of people nowadays are too stupid to understand this ridiculously simple concept.Yeah of course, we are not speaking of a game with over 30 years of heritage.
It was expected and here we goDamn I thought this forum was overblowing reviewers holding it to some imaginary FF standard. But here we are, where "not my FF RPG heritage" is a review headline lol
disappointing character arcs and uneven story are two separate points?Looks like some of the reviews are also echoing some things people on GAF were worried about (re: RPG systems)
lol people just wanna see something theyre into do well. This is like saying "I dont understand why fans of this sports team want said sports team to win"
88!
What a flop! a whole 1 point below the game Im loving right now...Diablo IV....
What a shambles square!
Looks like an incredible action game.
Sure.30 years of reminding people that each numbered title essentially acts like a new IP, but it’s sadly pretty clear a lot of people nowadays are too stupid to understand this ridiculously simple concept.
Oh true, that is right. And of course games with Job systems change how the characters look depending on class (except for the main characters usually). And can't forget the FFX-2 with the dresspheres lol15 let u change ur outfit, but is not related to ur armor
I guess that is a FF game... sort of.Stranger of Paradise
Anything above a 90 is basically a modern day classic and will def get more sales. My comparison still applies, its just now its kinda like youre saying "idk why fans of this sports team can't just be happy they made the playoffs. Why do they want so bad for them to win the championship?"I understand, but that's not what I meant. It is the obsession with a specific number, above 90. It seems that anything below that is bad. If the final grade drops to 88, 89, it will be sad for some, as if it were a terrible grade.
It's like saying that winning 1-0 is too bad, we'll have to win 3-0.
