  • Next game (Witcher 4) will be bigger and better than TW3 and Cyberpunk 2077
  • Witcher 4 will likely release 1-2 years after full reveal Lessons learned from Cyberpunk
  • "There's no magic. There's only hard work and making sure you stay on the right course."
  • Better studio organization to avoid another buggy launch, including better review processes and more time for pre
  • ProductionCyberpunk's launch wasn't the reason for the switch to UE5
  • They wanted to share tech between multiple projects simultaneouslyPC-first release not in the cards ATM (will launch on console at the same time)

Dear Santa,

I've been a good boy. Or moderately good. Well, not completely terrible at least.

What I want for Xmas is for CDPR not to concentrate on having no delays, but the released product having no bugs. Or at least just a tolerable amount of bugs. Thank you in advance.

So, they're talking to their shareholders, not consumers. God I hate big studios going public.

Maybe focus on the writing and mechanics instead of stability.

A fantastic/ambitious but buggy game can get patched, a boring game will stay boring

I know I sound like a naïve idiot, but my hunch is they'll deliver on this big time - the Cyberpunk launch would be enough to traumatise any studio in getting their shit together.

Witcher 3 is in my top 3 all time so I'm really looking forward to this.

Would the investors be fine with that?

Nope. But they switched their stance on launching on console day 1. This is very important because inorder for their game to launch they'd need 3rd party certification. They won't get a first pass but both ms and Sony will allow certain v2's and maybe v1's to skert by depending on case end.

I can promise you this game will get a minor delay because of the certification process.

"Biggest" game, no delays and well optimized?

If the strategy is to delay the "full reveal" until certain conditions are met, then I can see that as a strategy. But saying that "this time, we're going to avoid mistakes and work better" is not really anything. Good luck to them though.

All I hope is that they vastly improve the combat, and character animation when controlling it

The way Geralt jogs its embarassing in W3. Thank god we have mods to fix it

"For us, it's unacceptable to launch (like Cyberpunk). We don't want to go back."

I will allow myself one excite. At the end of The Witcher 3 I always thought planet-hopping Ciri on a next gen engine would make for an amazing game. Her powered up portion of the game was so hype.

DEI, female witcher confirmed.

To all witcher fans, please manage your expectations.

If this isn't sarcasm with Poe's law in full swing, it was pretty clear Ciri would be taking a bigger role after 3, and a woman or a person of colour simply existing doesn't automatically mean DEI or woke

Hope they have ranged combat, I'm getting to where I don't like mele sword, hack and slash dodge parry stuff anymore. Just let me point and shoot.

Here's hoping they hire a combat director for this one.
Chances are, it will likely be that raging feminist lesbian from ghost of yotei(or similar crazy one ;) or guy who pretends to be a woman and tells sane ppl to aknowledge his mental illness.
Gone are the days of making stuff like tihs :messenger_weary:

I love CDPR, but I expect this to age like milk.

I'm willing to wait and to have delays, I don't care, I just don't want Witcher 4 to feel like it has anything "forced". No woke stuff. Have a compelling story. Don't make this game feel like it's only being released because Witcher 3 was a massive success.

Yeah, they need people that know what they are doing because combat was already a problem in TW2 and they barely improved it in 3. And they need to improve gameplay outside of combat as well, because controlling your character is not good either. TW3 is fucking awesome but the playing part of the game could improve a LOT.

For the umpteenth time. Let's stop with the revisionist history. The reason Sony delisted the game was because CDPR said everyone can get a refund. Sony doesn't do refunds. So their response was "ok, I guess we'll give refunds then, also, fuck you and your game".
