Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty | Review Thread

DragoonKain

Neighbours from Hell
I bought this recently and I beat it for the first time a year ago and already forgot almost everything. They changed so much I have no idea what is what anymore. I'm over capacity with my carrying limit now after the 2.0 patch too, which is kind of annoying. And apparently the cyberware is all different, but I forgot almost everything about it I can't tell if the stuff I have equipped now is completely different or the same stuff I had before. I don't remember what any of my stuff did before the updates.

This is why I hate taking long pauses from games for DLC, I always forget everything and it's hard to relearn from an old save, and no chance I start this game from the beginning again.

I have finally dove into the world of Cyberpunk, after attempting two other times before, during holiday break from work, and I am hooked! Phantom Liberty has been where I have spent most of my time, and it has to be some of the best DLC I have ever played. The opening hours of it were a ton of fun too.

I am nearing the end of Phantom Liberty and I need to decide if I am going to finish it before doing the rest of the game. I know the ending of Phantom Liberty could change the overall ending, and I actually what I have read about this new ending, but I am unsure if I can still get the ending if I complete Phantom Liberty and then go do all of the other main story content, and then choose the Phantom Liberty ending. Anyone know?

Credits rolled on the DLC and I am pretty disappointed overall with it. Most of the main missions are just awful. Way over the top scripted events. The mission with Meyers was insane with none stop explosions and falling. You fight this massive robot, win, then later in the game can't do shit to some smaller robot. Hiding like some horror game with nonstop insta deaths and reloads. Incredibly frustrating. It really played like a whole different game from the base game. Gigs were fun and the new area to explore was interesting. I hated the new characters and really did not want to help them. I felt that none of the choices were good choices. A huge step backwards from Witcher 3 dlc.

This DLC should have always been for free for fucking over the fans, but....guess they had to continue their same scummy actions lol

I was going to play the DLC this year, but with all the school work I have and work load, I decided against it, now I'm not sure If I'll care to play it at all.

It still reviews well at 90% on Steam. The main game sits at 95%. I guess the majority of people seem to love it. A few reviews did seem to agree with me and did not like that last mission. The whole game leads you by the hand with the mission way points, and suddenly on the last mission there is no map or way points and you need to memorize the map, while being chased and hiding from an invincible killer robot. It also only auto saves, so when you inevitably die, you will be reloading from an auto save from several minutes prior to do it all over again. I almost rage quit and uninstalled it. It feels like it was made by a whole different team. It didn't help that the last time I played Cyberpunk was 2021 and since then they have patched it to the point where I hardly recognize the game. They completely redid the skills and now health and grenades are infinite, but timed. Sure. Is that infinite grenades in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

Cyberpunk 2077 was a powerhouse of a game and phantom liberty is no different it will be in people’s top 20 game DLCs of all time.
Agree. I'm just about to wrap up my second playthrough of the DLC, a year on from its release. The way choices late in the main quest change the scenarios is really something. I wasn't expecting that. I can see this becoming my yearly winter game, as Witcher 3 was for a long time.

Bought it but never played it.

I wanted to play through the campaign again before starting the DLC but I got burned out real quick.

Maybe next year when I get a new GPU

Tell me you havent played horror games without telling me you havent played horror games. That specific mission is only based on an important choice as well as the fact that its a nod to a certain game which was brilliant. If you pick the other choice you have a massive shootout at the airport. You have 100 hours of nonstop action, complaining about one short survival horror mission is ridiculous.

This is a review thread, not a LTTP/RTTP one, ease up on the friggin' spoilers lads, people don't want to know what happens, when it happens or what's the final scenario/last "boss".

You'd think that people would have learnt this by now and yet...

I don't hate the main game, just the dlc. Good to know my choice changes an outcome for once. I hate horror games, yes. You got me. Maybe I pick B instead of A one of these days. Not sure if I can stomach a 4th playthrough. Like I said, I didn't really like either character, so it was a coin toss who to betray.

Fucked who? I got the base game for $25 on PSN, and played it when they released the next gen patch, had a blast, the game is very good on PS5, do you mean the PS4/Xbox One versions? didn't they offer refunds?
I don't feel cheated or something, they launched at a rough state, but offered refunds, later made it very good on consoles, why would they give you free expansion?

So based i'm not sure if this isnt sarcasm.

Enjoyed the DLC a lot and on my scale of cinema ticket prices/movie time/enjoyment felt these 25 bucks felt like a great spend.

Maybe everybody who loves the DLC picked Songbird over Reed and didn't have to deal with the awful hide and seek from invincible robot.

So it seems Phantom Liberty gives you other ending option(s). That is nice. I chose the follow Reed and went for surgery. Got to listen to Johnny piss and moan for a long while. Interesting how that went. Still a pretty sad ending. I think the best ending of my 3 playthroughs was giving in to Johnny and letting him take over. No ending seems to let you just keep playing the game after the credits. You always need to go back to a previous save. Overall the dlc still pissed me off, but somewhat redeemed itself after the dlc credits rolled.

Are you doing it on purpose or are you that thick man ?
Would please stop with the fucking spoilers ?
Put some spoiler tags at the very least...

I tried being polite the 1st time but you just don't seem to understand, you show a complete lack of respect towards others that still didn't finish it.
