Would be interesting to know exactly how the revenue between all of these units sold is distributed. Because this sounds like big backlog selling syndrome all around.
I'm not sure how people think this can work long term for Microsoft. Especially if they do a Steam\Console next-generation. Where would Microsoft generate the money to run the Xbox division if games are selling even less from their store?

They probably playing the long game & releasing a open platform & letting other companies release versions of Xbox while waiting for the courts to force Sony into making PlayStation a open platform.

Think about it: if the next Xbox allows Steam & other store fronts this pretty much leaves PlayStation as the only home console with a walled garden & being that it's the dominant console on the market it wouldn't take long for a group to run to the courts trying to force them to open it up for other store fronts.
