If you're talking about Gaetz, these accusations were investigated and deemed insubstantial by the DOJ. Being "held to account for credible accusations" would have been prosecution and possibly jail time. Not a media and political badgering. They didn't screech at his nomination because of accusations, they did it because they didn't like him or his politics.

I don't think that's true ... Not with the house ethics committee statements from the other party... And it was his own party that didn't want him with his numerous scandals.

It's a fact. I don't want to get moderated for posting the link, but google it. They investigated, and informed Gaetz that they were closing without laying any charges. Of course, they didn't make a show of it, because giving someone like Gaetz a winning showboat may as well be sacrilege.

The house ethics report has been sitting there for the better part of a year. They started building it most of 4 years ago. Obviously, his own party doesn't like him, because most of the are career politicos who want things to remain as they are. It isn't to say I think the guy's perfect, but if you don't think McCarthy and his allies have it in for him after the trouble he caused them, you've got something else coming.

Do you really believe that anyone in Washington DC gives a damn about ethics? All this conversation does is prove the power of the machine. It's all been recycled because they like his policy even less than they like his person.
