I find it odd that it wasn't included when it's plug & play in the SDK.No kb+m on ps5
Yeah it honestly sucks, maybe they didn't want to invest in enough testing to make it pass whatever validation sony/ms doesI find it odd that it wasn't included when it's plug & play in the SDK.
Do you guys recommend this game to someone who loves story and character focused games, western RPGs, fantasy, etc. but dislikes turn based games for the most part?
This is huge news and fucking epic, anybody who pre-ordered, if you haven’t played this, you should. Seriously. Don’t even wait for the pro. Get it now.
If you already have it set that you don't like turn based then no I don't recommend it. This game has long drawn out turn based battles that require strategic thinking.
Such a bloody shame. I just can’t get a proper fantasy RPG that appeals to me since The Witcher 3. Baldur’s Gate 3 would be perfect with real time combat.
You're going to have to wait for Avowed like me. Or play Veilguard.

I myself hate turn based most of the time, especially in JRPG, because it's actually never strategic at all, you just spam the same actions, the combats are repetitive, it's boring, and it also often came with random encounters in older jrpg making the whole thing even worse. I think it never really provided anything beneficial that action couldn't do, in most of these JRPGs it's just tedious.
However, I really enjoyed the combats in Baldur's Gate 3.
It's actually really strategic, you can move your character around for strategic positioning and play with the environment (your position is very important in this game), you have to take your time to think about your next action, and you can really experiment with ton of crazy things. it has a very heavy "immersive sim" aspect to it, if you're familiar with that. You can really improvise a lot of stuff depending on how the environment is, what objects are around you, how the terrain is, what items you have on you etc...
And related to that, one key important thing about Baldur's Gate 3 combat is that all the combats, all the encounters, are UNIQUE.
It doesn't have the same feeling as other turn based jrpgs because it doesn't have this repetitive, grindy feeling. If you encounter ennemies somewhere, and kill them, this combat won't happen again. Ennemies don't respawn. Most human ennemies actually are unique characters with a specific name to them, characters which you can in a lot of situations not even fight if you turn the situation around through dialogue etc... And if you do kill them, well they're dead, forever.
This absolutely change the feeling of the combats. Each combat is a fun interesting and unique situation, making the game always feel fresh, you won't feel like you're playing the same combat over and over.
Absolutely loved it. The only thing I'm still not a fan however is the RNG, I never liked random things, so I did tend to save scum a lot in this game lol.
You get 19fps!!Woohoo, 20fps in act 3!
(I'm kidding. And I'm not.)
You could just try it out?Such a bloody shame. I just can’t get a proper fantasy RPG that appeals to me since The Witcher 3. Baldur’s Gate 3 would be perfect with real time combat.
1 or 2 more playtroughs can't hurtBuy this game? I have already beaten it on PC and it is better than the pro.
They paired it with a 4090. However actually, there is a DF video covering the PS5 version with Patch 5, which showed that framerates had improved from the low twenties to the low thirties. That is a really old CPU.
Did they at least pair it with a decent GPU?
No doubt it will improve FPS somewhat, especially in Act 1 and 2. Act 3 is very much CPU intensive though. Be interesting to see what the differences are.would be funny if PRO increase FPS in this "cpu intensive" game with the "cpu limited" hardware

So for the PS5 Pro to get a locked 60 here, performance would need to almost double.
You could just try it out?
Once you complete it - the "Dark Urge" origin story. One shouldn't do that as the first playthrough. But after that, oh yes. It's honestly a completely different experience. And you can go all in on the evil (and you should).
I went for Dark Urge on my first play through and it's amazing. I can't imagine having a better first experience with the game. Being evil in BG3 is just so much fun and actually viable. There are so many ways you can play through the game, it's crazy. Can't wait to sink time into future playthroughs.Once you complete it - the "Dark Urge" origin story. It's not as bad as that review is saying. Don't get swayed by online negativity surrounding the game. If you're slightly interested in the game like me, then just wait for a price reduction, like i did.Yeah I’m definitely looking forward to Avowed.
I was keeping an eye on Veilguard but don’t think I can endure the writing, those characters, and the awful art style. That Skill Up review was a TKO.
What do you mean by real time combat?Such a bloody shame. I just can’t get a proper fantasy RPG that appeals to me since The Witcher 3. Baldur’s Gate 3 would be perfect with real time combat.
As someone who thought this before playing it, you're wrong. BG3s combat is much better for being slow and strategy basedSuch a bloody shame. I just can’t get a proper fantasy RPG that appeals to me since The Witcher 3. Baldur’s Gate 3 would be perfect with real time combat.
