Man, you’re literally in a thread of ‘final previews’ where nobody is ‘hyping it to death’ as a BG3 and Skyrim killer.

Yep. Right after I dropped a lol emoji on your salt encrusted post.

So Skyrim comes out 10+ years ago and we're celebrating a NEW game that is a mini version of it? Mini?

You've had 10 years of technology improvements and all you can make is a SMALLER version of a decade old game?

As a lifelong gamer since NES I feel that this is the worst period in gaming since it's inception. Remakes, games that barely look better than last Gen, hardly any originality due to bloated game budgets, Games as a Service shovelware, 5+year dev cycles.

Nintendo is the only company left that truly feels like a videogame company. They're not perfect but at least they've stayed true to themselves and their history. All the others just seem to be chasing dollars and tripping over their own feet.

MS has been a wrecking ball to the industry. Buying countless companies and in many cases ruining them, bringing a subscription service to the market and mishandling it, along with their studios, to the point where the brand as a major console is now dying.

Sony I can't figure out, they used to be incredible and still do some great things. But then you look at how few games their studios are releasing, along with a recent games as a service travesty, and it makes you wonder what the future holds.

I'm excited, it looks like it will be fantastic.

Cue the tsunami of "boring, bad graphics, bad gameplay" comments, despite the INCREDIBLE previews :messenger_smirking:

Hell man....folks could just copy and paste your posts from Sony threads and create that "tsunami". :messenger_smirking:

Either way, don't lean to hard on previews. Hopefully the game is great, but previews are generally always positive.

I'm looking forward to this. Unusual in that it seems to be finished, and the release is being held back because Microsoft's schedule is too full... Wondered if we'd ever see that day, but it seems to be here... Hopefully they can keep it up, and we're starting the see the fruits of their acquisition strategy on their release calendar. Not watching the previews, because I already know I'll be playing it.

How soon we forget Dragon Age a mere handful of weeks ago.

I do hope this one is good, western RPGs of this nature have been slacking lately.

Honestly can't disagree with this part to much. I heard COG literally talking about the audio immersion because he could hear a shimmering sound when he was near a chest. I literally laughed out loud that shit was in Dragon Age Inquisition in 2014.

The Outer Worlds is a good game. ppl be trippin
This is an average game that was incredibly quickly forgotten, and certainly not on the level of Obsidian, especially after Pillars of Eternity 1-2. I fear the same scenario here, but let's hope for the best.

My biggest fear is that it comes out on February 18th if I remember correctly. And Kingdom Come: Deliverance II seems to be on the 11th, two highly anticipated RPGs coming out so close to each other, and I'm just afraid that due to the scope of KCD2 they might run over them, since 7 days is extremely short for such a game due to its size.

I don't think you should expect that level of depth from this game or any game that wants to appeal to a broader and more mainstream audience. PoE is a niche crpg game.

I just think you greatly underestimate KCD. At one time it collected almost 100,000 on Steam. It also sold 8,000,000 copies, and the last 2mil were sold right after the announcement of the 2nd part.
Believe me, this game is highly anticipated.

First of all, the previews of those websites who gave DA Veilguard a 9 or 10 must be deleted and not taken into consideration. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Secondly, this actually might be worth a play through ... though it looks kind of lethargic.

I'll just wait for the release. It looks better than the first preview but I have too many games already booked for february. If it turns out great I'll grab it before sale.

Oh, It wasn't my intention. But it's not common for games that are very deep in certain mechanics to become mainstream. Cases like Elden Ring or BG3 aren't common. Usually there needs to be a balance for the casuals to buy a game a lot (and especially on consoles), which is why most games just dip their toes into RPG mechanics.

KCD is also very cheap to buy. On PS you can buy it for literally 3 or 4 €/$ for the most part of the year.

This is all understandable, and yes, from the publisher's point of view, before the release of the second part, they naturally lower the price to warm up interest in the new release and attract new players. But the point is that, as it seems to me, the window between the two games is small, and this may have an effect. Usually, RPGs are released further away from each other, because on average, a casual player needs two weeks to complete, or three if they do everything and are in no hurry. Let's see what happens in the end.

But February is turning out to be simply brutal for them - Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Civilization 7, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza, Monster Hunter Wilds. They really are releasing the game in the most brutal month of the next year =)

Another future PS5 release to skip.

The lighting looks good, but framerate is absolutely terrible (IGN preview), combat looks mediocre af, animations look mediocre as well.

Edit:

HUD and menus look like PS3 era. Just terrible.

Yup, they should've kept the original date. I think it was October?

Yes, but as they say... it's too late, they can of course move to March, it's calmer there. It's just that in February there are so many major releases and such significant projects, it will be very difficult to collect money and players there...

I won't waych/read any previews, as I wanna go in blind, but I really wish they delayed Indy Jones instead of this!

Looks interesting. Definitely will give it a shot. It's free on gamepass afterall so no reason for me to not try it at least. If all goes well and the game isn't flooded with DEI, it might be a Steam purchase for me.

Looks like it will have better roleplaying than Veilguard.
But graphics, environments, character models, animation are very much on the "oof" side of things for a modern title.

It just has "mid" written all over it.

...and before the usual green defence force comes at me, Stalker 2, while quite shite now will get there in 5-6 months (like the OG really) and Indiana Jones looks like a good, honest 7.5 - 8 game, but this one ? Nahhh, it's a generic mediocrity with a capital M since its 1st showing, there's absolutely not an original bone in it and looks like your run of the mill generic fantasy stuff.

How are these warriors still not banned? How pathetic.
