Yooka-Replaylee will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo consoles alongside its previously announced PC (Steam) release, developer Playtonic Games announced. While the game was announced for consoles, specific platforms were not announced. Playtonic Games also does not specifically mention Switch, suggesting it will only appear on the successor to Switch.

Yooka-Replaylee will be playable at EGX London 2024 from October 25 to 27, where Playtonic Games will be showcasing the new and improved “Glitterglaze Glacier” stage.

Sitting this one out. I already platinumed the first Yooka Laylee and also the Impossible Lair one on PS4. Great games, looking forward to seeing their next new one.

Absolutely adore these games. Playtonic has many devs(Steve Hurst, Steve Mayles, Gavin Price, Jens Restemeier, Mark Stevenson, and Chris Sutherland) that were formally at RARE Ltd., it has that "charm" and nostalgia of the 64 bit 3D platforming games like Banjo, Banjo 2, Super Mario 64, etc.

Can't wait for this one!

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
The original game was pretty meh, so we’ll see how much actually gets changed for this one. I’ve heard good things about the 2D game, though.

Kinda interesting that this is the first Switch 2 game announced.

Are they going to make a second game any time soon? I know they made a side scrolling spin off but like a real 'main' entry

The first one wasn't perfect but I welcomed a return to a Banjo inspired platformer, I'd still like to see a much more impressive second game

Im a Bit annoyed that backers don't seem to get this for free... I mean I know technically we didn't back "this" yookalaylee... but this one wouldn't exist if we didn't back the first one.

All we know is there's a previous owner upgrade discount

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I'll give it a shot - I didn't play the original version, so it's new to me.

I thought Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair was an incredible game, so I feel like - even if it's a pseudo remake - this one probably deserves a chance. But I would love to see a retooled version of Impossible Lair, too.

Why? I say this as someone who actually really liked the first 2 games, especially the impossible lair. In an era of oddly remade games, this is near the top for me

The "Braid Remastered" of 3D platformers.

the original Braid was already a great game, it didn't really need a remaster.

Yooka Laylee was pretty shit in many ways. like if someone who didn't know why Banjo was good tried to copy Banjo by watching gameplay videos of it.
so this remaster changing a lot of the level design and improving the gameplay at least brings more to the table than just a slightly prettier rerelease.

I wasn’t blown away by this game. It had several issues. The camera wasn’t good, and it was just awful when flying. Plus, the level design was nowhere near as tight as Banjo’s. A decent game, all things considered.

The “spin off” was basically Donkey Kong Country 4 with a different skin. Yes, it’s that good. Frankly better than DKC3 in my book.

It’s so silly. Because they could’ve just as easily listed it for Switch. And then at some point next year announced it for Switch 2.

But they wanted that extra attention by deliberately using just a Nintendo logo instead of the normal Switch logo.

Edit: Ah, this runs and looks waaay too good to run on Switch 1. I see
