A patent is just a "no one we will copy our mechanism or idea".

We live in world of industry, patent gameplay mechanism or idea and this is more sad.

I feel like they're just trying to patent shit and see if they can get away with it.

Sony has a lot of patents for many things that already exist.
They aren't patenting end results, they patent different ways to get there.
Segmented downloads have existed for ages, this is just a patent for another behind-the-scene way of doing them.
