According to Amazon’s best sellers list, the portal has sold over 10,000+ units within the last month in the US, while the original Nintendo switch has sold 5,000+ units in the same time frame. Note this is Anecdotal and is just using one of the biggest retailers for analysis , but do we think the portal could actually be selling at a comparable level to the Xbox series/ Nintendo switch this month?

You're also comparing one SKU of Switch (the oldest one) out of probably over a dozen different models and colors at this point to one single SKU of Portal that encompasses all of it.

I was comparing it to the only switch sku in the top 100 sellers on amazon. Also no one responded to this so far:

"but do we think the portal could actually be selling at a comparable level to the Xbox series/ Nintendo switch this month?" All things considered, a lot of people on this forum called it DOA so the thread was meant to initiate conversation on the fact it's actually doing pretty okay for an accessory to a console.

Also I never stated amazon was the only retailer, and I even mentioned to note this was anecdotal....

I get that you were looking at the best sellers list but you can't blame anyone for thinking it's silly not to check those numbers, given it takes 2 seconds.

I think people who thought it would go terrible saw it as a bad handheld but it's just a good console accessory. I am surprised it sells as much as it does for the cost of admission, but to be fair PS players haven't had anything meaty to buy since PS5 unless you want the even more expensive VR and meanwhile Switch has already educated everyone about Portal's USP (we bought Switch as a portable game system but most of the time play it on the couch or in bed anyway)
