More Ghostbusters movies are being worked on

“The answer is yes,” adding that both he and Reitman “take the responsibility and the joy of being the keepers of the flame of Ghostbusters very seriously… we definitely are continuing the conversation of telling big Ghostbusters stories on the big screen. And stay tuned. There’ll be more. There’ll be more about that later.”

Frozen Empire made over $200M and was a huge hit when it went to Netflix, so no shit Sony is going to keep the train moving.

They must have made them in the 90s or 2000s. Time has already won them. Again, if there was the original cast it is the essence of the movie...

Ghostbusters are icons because of the original actors, without them...

The franchise does not exist.

Was the new one any good? The Paul Rudd one was just a retread in a different location. The women one was dire, more childish and yet not at all funny.

I've been trying to watch frozen empire on netflix for 4-5 days now, but I just can't manage more than 15-20 minutes at a time. I didn't think the predecessor was that bad, even if it's not Ghostbusters. But the latest part is just boring.

They were in the last two movies.

No, it was pretty bad actually. They tried to cram way to much into it and nothing feels fully baked as a result. It also has that Marvel kind of stink where you can tell it's not a real movie, but rather just an advertisement for the 7 other upcoming movies they want you to see.

Just think. In around ten years time the word 'originality' probably won't exist.

In a hundred it'll look like a hieroglyph.

Frozen Empire was not that great. Afterlife was decent. Paul Rudd is so milktoast. Am I to assume they will stick with the current characters? I'm afraid to see where this goes.

I too have struggled to find the motivation to watch Frozen Empire. I think i'm good honestly. I didn't really like Afterlife at all, so if everyone is saying FE is worse.......

What I wished they did was just recast the original cast of the Ghostbusters and continued the movies like it was the 80s.

On a side note. Amazon has He-Man for $11 now.

Ah. Crap. That was the new He-Man not the original. The original is $30.

With the new cast getting older I think they could move beyond the "young adult" feel of these movies and actually make something more akin to OG Ghostbusters. One can hope, at least.
