Nvidia is replacing rival chipmaker Intel in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, a shakeup to the blue-chip index that reflects the boom in artificial intelligence and a major shift in the semiconductor industry.

Intel shares were down 1% in extended trading on Friday. Nvidia shares rose 1%.

Clearly, a monumental shift that can hit gaming in a very unpredictable way. Nvidia is less and less interested in gaming and has no incentive to keep competitive GPU pricing, while Intel is literally being Boeing of chip industry minus the MIC contracts. And that's grim news too, because AMD will have even less reasons to keep modest pricing on future Zen chips.

There are also rumors about Nvidia CPU/GPU combo based on ARM architecture, so something is changing behind the scenes and not on a healthy way.

Welp time to short Intel as if its the new Game Stop now.
Yeah, you do that. It's not like that affects other semiconductor manufacturers.

(Sincerely, an AMD stock holder. Bought a bunch way back, just as "activism" I suppose. This year has been wild. It has gone up and down all through the year, with often no correlation to how the company has actually been doing. At it's best it was like +44% YTD. Currently -3.2%)

One of my former school classmate who is a stock broker always mispronounces Dow Jones as Down Jones. And it's not on purpose. He just has really bad English.

This has be joke?

With every week, some report comes out stating another company wants to buy Intel.
I bet most of these reports are true, up to some extent, as all these companies are gauging the deal.
But I bet there are also several equity firms looking to buy out Intel and then sell it's assets and IP to the highest bidder.
