The truth is, unless you are part of the top ~10% of income earners in America, you've been having a bad day for about 16 years now. I think that's a large part of the frustration with the current system. And why when we have out of touch politicians, people are willing to grasp at anything, even someone who normally would seem outlandish, because they're tired of the way things are going.

I’m typically every man for himself. And when rates are low then everyone benefits as it’s now up to you to take advantage and do what you need to do.
But when mortgage rates jumped 4% in 18 months, even I’m like…. How the fuck is the avg guy on a variable rate affording this? I know I can, but anyone already straddling the line is fucking toast.
Even my real estate buddies are like this is nothing. Rates have come down a bit but when a lot of people’s mortgages are due for renewal at current rates (Canada mortgages you do them in terms and you got to renew at new rates going through hoops again) they say anyone on a good fixed at 2% now facing 5% are screwed.

I've been following the car market since I was in the market for a new car (ended up buying a new toyota). The car market is in a terrifying state right now. Something like 20% of car loans have negative equity right now, when they're being traded in. That's honestly baffling. i listen to the numbers and I honestly can't fathom that the average car loan payment is approaching what a moderate monthly rent used to be a decade ago. And let's not mention actual rent.

Basically blue and purple hair weirdos vs normal people that's most likely physically stronger and faster than them.
Less likely to reproduce long term so they're not even good in a long war of attrition.
A good amount of them want to defund the cops so less law enforcement allies there.
More annoying to neutral folks compared to normal people so less allies there too.
The side they want to destroy usually own a lot more guns and weapons.
More thin skinned than the side they want to war with so their morale would go down easier compared to the other side.
