Disney pushes back release dates of upcoming Marvel sequels and Indiana Jones 5

Thor: Love And Thunder, The Marvels and Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantamania have also had their release schedules moved by Disney, reportedly as a result of production delays.

Lots of rumours about major changes being made to the film after fan backlash over stuff like the time travel stuff, the woman becoming the next Indy at the end etc.

As for making changes, I don't think that has ever worked out well, expect maybe for Rogue One. How do these execs not vet out the script before committing a few hundred mill? How hard is it to make a film that respects the previous stuff and isn't full of nonsense?

Well put, this gets to the heart of the problem with these late sequels to adventure films. Indy shouldn't remain stuck in his youth, he should be a realistic, charming development of the professor that he is in his normal life, with flashes of the old adventurous spirit but tempered by his age and experience, etc.

But that would require for the people behind this to actually give a shit about writing an interesting story instead of trying to maximize profits by appealing to nostalgia.

The vast majority of these late sequels are just a lazy way to cash in on nostalgia. The entire creative process starts and ends at "remember THIS from the old movies?!?!?!?!?!".
So of course they will give him the same clothes and probably having act the same as his younger self. I also totally believe the time travel leak, because of course it's time travel, that way they can go back to places and events from the old movies.
