Games that weirdly enough aren't available (anymore) on PC

I’ve got a boxed version of No One Lives Forever 2 I’d happily give up if they do something with it. Discs are mint condition too.

I have a boxed (DVD) copy, but am missing one of the discs. FML

Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher bay. Have a abandon download which was a pain to get started because of the starting resolution totally puts the options menu outside the screen, but got it working. Would like a proper GOG or Steam copy.
I never got this working. I literally kept my 360 around for a replay of that game that I never did lol.

GameStop somehow will still give me like $40 for my 360, extra controller, and the Kinect I somehow have despite never using a Kinect so I'll probably dump it with my older controllers today as it's easier then eBay for maybe like $20 extra profit.

Another one: Rise of Legends. The original game is available everywhere but RoL is not. I actually have a boxed copy and it works great, even supports UWS natively, but it's a damn good and creative RTS.

The Black and White games are also unavailable. You have to install them from the original discs.

There are fan patches that get it working on modern computers.

I think you can just install them to directories and backup the directories so you don't have to install them again.

There are a good amount of Need for Speed games that are no longer available.

I would say they are abandonware now. Need for Speed Most Wanted Black has a fan patch that upgrades it to XBox 360 quality.

A while back, I installed a whole bunch of Need For Speed games on my computer. I needed a repack to get ProStreet to work.

Had to use a lot of cd cracks.

I'd like to ask you, YES YOU, which games do you want available digitally on Storefronts, which are not available at this moment?

Now ofcourse there are many titles, for me personally big ones are for instance No One Lives Forever 1/2, and Aliens vs Predator 2001.

I wish those games were released on Steam. I loved all those 3, back in the day.
Though I still have these.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Gears of War remaster? I mean, maybe it is somewhere in microsoft store, but eh...
PC bros being able to play 4 and 5 but not the complete original trilogy is quite the tragedy.

I know and that's what I'm saying. It's so weird games like that were never ported back to PC.
The sequel came out, but why? Why would you port the second game when the first isn't even available.

It's corporate stupidity at it's finest.
The first game was developed during the "PC gaming is dead" era of 2005-2010

I recently realized Lord of the Rings: War in the North was delisted on Steam. I was lucky to have it in my library but if you haven't bought it years ago, you can't longer buy it without having to look up some second hand keys

The other example is Raven's Software Wolfenstein released in 2009. It was also delisted from sale. One would think that considering Microsoft owns id, Activision and Raven, it could come back to sale, but nope

Raven Software casualty list can include X-Men Legends 1 and 2. Probably other stuff as well.

Activision and Disney can fuck right off.

So many castlevania clones yet the greatest one of all time isn’t on pc. Need a symphony of the night pc port.

Yeah HOW is Symphony of the Night not on Steam???

Quintessential Metroidvania right there.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction

And Hot Pursuit (Remastered) is on Steam :)

Or do you mean, NFS3 : Hot Pursuit?

I've got a physical copy, but The Last Remnant.

In an absolute dick move, Square Enix delisted the PC version to stop it competing with the remastered edition on the PS4. It's never been put back up for sale again.
I have a Steam key for TLR and I'm willing to sell it for the right price.

I've been playing PC games since the MS DOS days, and I honestly can't think of any game that isn't available online. Thinking about it, it's actually amazing how there's such a huge library of PC games going back to the early days that are still sold and playable on modern setups.

Another one I forgot, is The Darkness. An amazing game, with a very cool story.

The second game is available on Steam, but the first one isn't available on anything that isnt a last gen console.
The original never made it to PC IIRC

Activision and Disney can fuck right off.
Blows my mind how the modding community has kept Legends 1 and 2 alive

Bungie's games before Halo don't appear to be available, on Steam at least.

Indie maker Xona Games used to make some xblig games, PC games and html5 games of some sort. All gone except a Score Rush PS4 game. All other games I think are pulled. Score Rush is a twin stick bullet storm shooter where you get one life. It was awesome as a $1 Xbox game

I regret to add this underrated gem to the list. RIP Raven. I'd give $30 tomorrow for a Steam release, but Activision and Fox? Good luck matey.

I love that you all nailed the ones I was going to mention. It really is bizarre that so many just aren't readily available. Especially when they were genuinely good titles. I can't think of anything else outside of what's already been posted.

But I will say it's especially weird to me that AVP2 hasn't been rereleased or anything. Especially since AVP 2000 got love. Man, that game was SO good.

AVP2 needs a night dive remaster

Need for Speed: Shift
Shift 2 Unleashed
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction
F1 2021
BLUR
I love (and own digitally) every game on that list*. Shift series was cash money back in the day. Closest you could get on PC to a console sim racer feel, which I deeply missed at the time. Team went on to make Project CARS and totally fuck it all up. Why can't Ubi sell Conviction?

*except for F1

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I was fortunate to buy The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena on GOG - that game's been disappeared, and the DRM on the retail version and Steam version was awful.

There are a lot of games that disappeared over time that really should come back. Outrun 2006 got taken down like 14 years ago due to the Ferrari license expiring - I bought the retail version of that back when it first launched, so that's not a problem for me. Other stuff like Prey and Wolfenstein 2009 disappeared at some point (I can't remember if Wolfenstein came back). The one that's been bugging me recently is Gears of War - the original version, not the Ultimate Edition that changed a lot of the overall aesthetic. I really wish we could get that one back, as Games for Windows Live and whatever other DRM schemes really fucked that one over (remember the glitch that rendered that game inoperable back in 2009?) Games For Windows Live, like most things MS ever does on PC, really fucked a lot of games up.

Obviously, there are also still a lot of older games that never made the leap to digital distribution. I'd personally like to see Heavy Metal FAKK 2 make a return. My other, extremely random one I've been pining for is Earthworm Jim: Special Edition, which is the best version of the game but only available as a Windows 95 retail release that has some issues on modern machines.

This is all basically why I'm a GOG fanboy - if these sorts of games are ever going to make a comeback, it's because they seek it out. This shit just doesn't happen on its own at this point.

I can understand games getting pulled due to licensing agreements ending, old MP games nobody plays anymore, studios cutting old sports titles etc…. But for games that can stand on their own I dont get why studios don’t just toss them on steam or GOG and get some revenue from it. Even if it’s small sales wouldn’t that e better than zero sales?

My best guess is they want you to buy newer games with mtx.

But that can’t be totally true because there’s lot of oldies on gog or steam bundles for dirt cheap deal that can eat up your time.

Destruction Derby 1 & 2 both had PC big boxes releases.

I played both of them so much on PS1, wish I could buy them on Steam.

These are also in the Exodos library.

Yeah like this kind of stuff. What in the world possesses EA to not release these games?

Is it simply a point of them wanting to not put effort/money into patching these games to make them work on modern systems?
It’s not just the music, it’s the car licensing, they have to contact every manufacturer again but you think they could squeeze something into their new release contracts to cut down on paperwork.

Then the music licencing

Then all the brand name licensing for all the after market parts.

There’s a reason every single racing game gets delisted at some point and never returns.
