Resident evil 4 is pretty much perfect already. That's why I'm not against a remake.Because whatever they decide to do with this I will always be able to return to the original.
This.Code Veronica didn't review that well? I remember the opposite, a lot of gaming media were calling it the Dreamcast's killer app, a reason to own the system etc.
Time for a hot take.
RE4 is overrated as fuck and unlike RE3 can actually benefit from more serious tone and significant trimming of its second half.
I probably agree, because RE4 was ported to milion + 1 systems by Capcom itself, so that's not like Doom.
Classic! HahaCapcom just shot themselves in the foot.
I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase RE4 Remake for either system, nor will they purchase any of Capcom's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Capcom has alienated an entire market with this move.
Capcom, publicly apologize and cancel the remake of RE4 or you can kiss your business goodbye.
I will shit myself if Separate Ways or Assignment Ada is missing. I also damn well better still be able to unlock my PRL412 and Chicago Typewriter. There is no question that RE4 will have cut enemies, bosses, locations, and game modes. No question at all.
The dude who wrote the article claims multiple sources straight from the development team told him. Also, he's the chief editor of the entire website if it matters.Where did VGC's info originate from? Investor meeting? Random twitter rumors etc?
But I do think it's fair for fans to criticize this choice after the last two remakes cut a lot of major content. Plus, RE4 is arguably already as perfect as it can be; though, I understand you don't share that opinion.
However, similar to how 2020’s Resident Evil 3 was directed by company Red Works, Capcom’s internal teams and other external studios are likely to lend significant development resources.
M-Two recently contributed to the development of 2019’s Resident Evil 3, but its role on that game was always intended as a precursor to its main project.
The zapping/b scenarios are a major part of RE2. You can't even see the full story, fight all the bosses or see all the locations without it.I don't consider RE2's zapping system to be a major part of the game's content, and the fully playable gas station secion as well as the orphanage more than made up for it.
Dude, the hospital in RE3R is fantastic! I still think the game was missing content in the city (should have been more expansive with more puzzles and room for Nemesis to chase you), and the clock tower/park segment would have really filled the awkward void between the Carlos RPD section and the 2nd Nemesis fight, but yes, the hospital was great. The missing clock tower and park sections of RE3 were indeed disappointing, still the other reimagined areas (the hospital in particular) were significant improvement.
I won't go through every one of your points, but I know a lot of people who share your criticism of the island section, but Leon's one-liners, and the fun banter between characters, is a big part of RE4's personality. Whether it was originally written to be campy or not, I love it.- The island section sucked and was overly long.
- The QTE sections were annoying as well.
- Leon's one liners were simply not funny and often made him look like a total idiot.
- The tank controls didn't fit the game's increased focus on action.
- Ashley's babysitting sections were too long as well. Also, I'll be happy if I never hear "LEON HEEEEEEEEEELP" ever again.
- Salazar's robot chase was dumb and didn't fit the setting at all.
- Krauser's final boss fight was frustrating and downright unfair at times.
- The story just wasn't that interesting and felt more suited for a spin-off.
Etc. etc.
Nah those will make it in. It'll just be in RE4 part 2 and part 3.Expected cuts from the game.
2nd part of the village
Castle
Mercenaries
Adas Story
Preach!Time for a hot take.

It goes further than that
The whole game is based with how Leon moves. A more fast paced game, like it is today, needs more wide areas to compensate the number of enemies. QTE was kinda new back then, but now could work just some parts - and Krauser is not one of then. Just doing the exactly same game is no better than a new remaster port.
Also, RE4 is a long game, and in times when development is expensive as hell, everyone expect something here and there to be cut. Can you imagine the first chapter with no dog?! Fuck this game
I'm cautiously hopeful. The series has been inconsistent after 4. 5 was a turd, 6 was good, Revelations was excellent, Revelations 2 was garbage, 7 was good. Not to mention the spinoffs that seem to have been hated and quickly forgotten. I haven't played the remakes yet, but it's going to be hard to recapture the tone and quality of 4. We're talking about remaking one of the greatest games ever made, that's not a small task.Surely I'm not in the minority In believing this is good news?

wut5 was a turd,
What?6 was good,
WHAT?Revelations was excellent,
Huh?Revelations 2 was garbage,
Garbage confirmed, Resident Evil 8 will release on current and next-gen consoles in 2021.
Like Resident Evil 7, the 2021 game will feature a first-person perspective and returning protagonist Ethan Winters.
It absolutely can.I'm hyped. Capcom has been hitting these remakes out of the park and I really want to see RE4 is glorious PS5 graphics. They don't need to change much with the gameplay, but I would appreciate a less cheesy presentation of the story. There were parts that wouldn't mesh well with hyper realism of the RE engine.
Except that it's not a survival horror at all, same goes for RE5 and RE6. It's about time to finally change that.Biohazard 4 is one of the greatest survival horror games ever created.
