Electronic Arts have confirmed that Battlefield 2042 will be coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play on November 22.

EA has also officially confirmed that Season 3 of Battlefield 2042, named Spearhead, will launch on November 22, too.

Spearhead will launch with 1 new multiplayer map, a new operator, and two new weapons.

It’s also been confirmed that players will be able to try Battlefield 2042 on all platforms for free starting next month.

• Xbox: December 1-4
• Steam: December 1-5
• PlayStation: December 16-23

Last week, a new EA blog update suggested that DICE will be only uploading one new multiplayer map per season, but the publisher confirmed that it will be adding more content beyond season 4.

I can't believe these guys did not do this a couple months ago or earlier. They had a great chance to grow this game's mindshare back then. This is still a good move to increase player count even now, but they're kidding themselves if they think 2042 will generate the same enthusiasm now that MW2 is out.

I know, it's not like they have been earning millions out of it not being on Game Pass, they probably got a few extra $100ks over last few months in sales which is pennies to EA.

It's the final move to save this game tbh, this will defiantly increase player numbers, we'll see how numbers are in 3 months time after Game Pass launch.

Even though I bought it at launch I put in good amount of hours. PO they screwed Paik I loved pinging everyone none stop. Lol.

Some of my buddies are going to be trying it out. Granted several of them still have PS4s and that version is worse than the PS5 by a significant amount.

Also, once again the guy who edits the trailers does a damn good job.

I bought it one month ago, knowing this can happen, but I am not that sad(maybe, a little). I play it occasionally and I like it, gunplay is satisfying. The small-scale maps are already similar to the old games(sometimes even better), they've made changes to the large maps(128 players) to bring close combat to the forefront, and I changed my processor just for that mode. I'm afraid they're a little late to make this decision. After Cod Warzone 2, they may still have difficulty finding players.

Yeah no idea how this is a surprise to anyone. They not only announced it but all EA games get moved to EA Play after a year or so.

I wish they had done it sooner. I like the changes they have done so far but it is too little too late. I just can't see this game pulling enough people from MW2/Warzone2 to make a difference.

New map and tank actually look pretty cool.

Im an old school battlefield fan that shit all over this at launch... but I have to admit it has been much much better recently.

Maybe gamepass will inject some new blood in there and revive it a little... but good luck against Warzone 2 lol.

How do u expect players to comeback for only 1 new map
I swear paid expansions were so much better than this garbage by this time in battlefield 4z life cycle we had 4 expansions and more than 16 new maps

That's amazing so soon MS will have both Battlefield *and* CoD tied to them. The former included in their subscription service already. Crazy times.

Tried the new map out yesterday and it's really good. Good layout, lots of cover, and fun areas for both vehicles and infantry.

Plus the complexity of the main buildings is awesome. You can blow off huge sections on the outside; exposing section behind that infantry can climb around on. There's also these automated robot things moving around on set paths in some of the buildings that you can ride.

Haven't used the new specialist, new vehicles, or new weapons yet.
