Vara’s roast was direct, but fair. She called Jaffe “salty” for blaming gamers and YouTubers for failures in the industry while refusing to accept the mediocrity of The Veilguard. However, her recounting Jaffe’s past comments and her observations about his hypocrisy that seemed to... strike a nerve.

Jaffe responded with a tirade that was as condescending as it was, frankly... bizarre. Among his many hot and 'spicey' takes, he accused Vara of being a “mental lightweight” and repeatedly demeaned her intellect, appearance, and credibility. He straight up went to attacking her looks to try and defeat her. A bold strategy, you got there, Cotton - most would agree.

Pro tip: if a game creator has so much time to spend on YT as David Jaffe....fair guess is he is not making games.

Which makes you wonder - why is he not getting any work? Could it potentially be that he is a damaged, entitled, whiny man child and every prospective employer is able to see that?

Jaffe needs to shut up. He left Sony, he left his work behind and has done nothing since and that's on him. All this attention seeking is only making things worse for him. If he wants to put his money where is mouth is, he needs to download Gadot and make something. Until then, he needs to get off the internet or shut the fuck up.

The problem for him is that both sides go after him. Purple forum people hate him because even though he's a lib w/ TDS, he's willing to do podcasts with Colin M, which drives them nuts. The right go after him because most of his political takes are dumb and devoid of common sense.

Get ready for 2025 and Jaffe hitting us with the most unhinged click baity bullshit. A real shame. He could provide actual valuable insights but chooses to be this.

Boys’ club locker room talk, much of it tongue in cheek and none of it meant for the recipient to read, is a little different from a public figure directly attacking someone in a YouTube video.

His comments reveal more about himself than the woman he’s targeting.

I was willing to let Asmon slide as he did apologize for his genocide statement a while back, but one would think he would use that opportunity to get out of anything political and focus on purely gaming.

Instead, he’s back into politics and I feel it’s just a matter of time before he says something he’ll regret once again.

At least he apologized. I’m not interest in his content as of now, but if he were to go back into purely gaming, I could be. Tectone, on the other hand, I unsubbed from once I saw his response. “Asmon didn’t say something racist, he said something stupid.” Bruh. A) yes, it was also stupid, but B) showing support for murdering an entire nation of their people, which would include children, is objectively racist, or xenophobic at least. I know Asmon is his friend, but own up to bullshit. A person can say something racist and apologize and do better. But Tectone wouldn’t even acknowledge that and had to act like his friend said something that wasn’t extremely awful. If I had a close friend, and I said something like that, I wouldn’t want them to instantly turn their back on me, but give me a chance to improve myself, obviously, but I also wouldn’t want them making weak ass excuses for me. No, when a person fucks up, own that shit.
