As an Australian we get 4 weeks of vacation time per year( sick days or personal leave are separate). If the 10 days is correct that is crazy.

She probably had 10 days of vacation a year so 100 vacation days. Depends on how the company handles PTO. She probably left because she finished whatever project she was on and decided to move on. If in a few weeks there is some announcement that she found work at ABCXYZ then this is just looking for attention.

And the amount of traveling they did is more like a vacation then most ever get to experience in their life. And depending on if the the stepdad was a main provider for the family it would make more sense to keep working instead of not working.

Though making a video for her followers might end up being a parasocial tactic to either gain more followers or acquire things(usually money) from said followers if it's a play on emotions.

its 10 days to start off. most companies let you earn more as you hit milestones like 2 or 5 years. ive been with my company for almost 15 years now and am upto 25 days after starting out at 10, but it includes both sick and vacation days. So even after 15 years, i basically only have 15 days as the rest are spent on sick days and doctors appointments for kids.

You start over when you switch jobs. Unless you can negotiate more PTO but it will likely come at the expense of any pay you negotiate.

She is australian. Moved to the U.S a decade ago and could only go back for a week or two. So its entirely possible that she only spent 10 weeks with her dad over the last ten years. Not to mention the time difference means that when shes up, they are sleeping and vice versa.

She's come to the realization that living abroad and working full time isnt sustainable if she wants to be around her family.

People with families in the same town in the U.S wont have the same problem.
